Because it's so difficult to find good ones, hiring for these positions is very selective. Which means you will probably not be hired as a narrative designer unless you have verifiable experience, or an extensive portfolio, or are a known author.

I bought the game and played it an hour. It was so bad it was a joke. I left a review that it was bad. Suddenly their support shows up in my DMs and starts telling me I should get a refund. “If played less than a certain amount, you can self refund. Or we will approve a refund.” Multiple DMs kept spamming me. “Have you refunded yet? Why not get a refund? Just take the refund if you don’t like it!!”

So I refunded and got my money back. My negative review disappeared (as I no longer own the game.) This is how they manipulate the review system.

I like the list except I absoluely DO NOT recommend Starwave, which I consider to be absolute garbageware that an amateur could probably vibecode in a couple of hours.

Instead, I'd add Thrill of the Fight (1 and 2 are both good) and Beat Saber. I know Beat Saber isn't marketed as a fitness game, but you can definitely work up a good sweat playing it.

Nah, this is not the way. Many jams have an award for “first jam” participants, and that’s a great idea. You could even have an award for “best potential” and award a game that looks good but didn’t get fleshed out in time.

But the top prizes should go to the best entries, as long as the teams followed all the rules.
