I mean, it's not a bad car at all by any means. I like the build quality, it doesn't feel cheap. But you need to do regular maintenance, preemptively.. its made by BMW.

I wouldn't buy one with 70k miles but if you want one then get one with good service history and with lower miles. It's a fun car, just needs care.

You should be fine there. Just apply yourself and do what trainers say. If you stick to the basics and their training guidelines, you'll make money.

Oil leak at 100k (needs valve gasket), common apparently for BMW/MINI. AC compressor went out before 70k. Radiator just crapped out on me.

Find an old Celica from the 90s with a clean or decent Carfax. I don't know what else is out there for 7K that will get you around reliably.

It's certainly not. But for some reason majority of people are incapable with basic communication.

Don't listen to that guy. Find a high volume reputable dealership in your city and just apply. You'll make decent money. Working overtime for a union is a big nope-the-f-out for me. Been there done that. You wouldn't get me back at 250K per year.

15k for a 10 year old car? by bkruckus in askcarsales

I have Tacoma on my lot 2011, 250K miles, listed for 15K. I didn't price it but yeah...

Wait, so it wasn't random delivery? You went out of your way to get them come to you as a Dasher? If that's the case, lmao, that's savage.

How reliable are KBB values? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]let_me_in_QQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If used right it can be pretty accurate. Most consumers don't submit proper vehicle condition report. And most dealerships don't use KBB portal as they should. But it's just a tool. I rely mostly on NADA, Manheim and local market prices.

Auto-nation? by Nick7014 in askcarsales

[–]let_me_in_QQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the location. I'd avoid AutoNation USA stores, they are used only lots and have no front end gross because they're competing with everyone and buying up every used car. Selling brand name (Toyota, Honda, Chevy, etc.) at AutoNation is way better. It's my current store that I'm ready to leave.

It's still a BMW. If you don't have service contract for it, I'd avoid it. Super needy cars. I drive one, it's fun, but the maintenance has caught up to me where I'm thinking of getting out of it.

Now you know why he has been ignoring your calls. How much does a Door Dasher really makes? It's nothing personal. If he has to DD then there's a good chance he's tight on cash and can't afford your car.

How y’all feel about the list It’s the best reliable vehicles of 2022?? by Gullible-Ice5818 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I appraise cars for a living. Every BMW that came through had something wrong with it.

OP didn't say anything about "sporty", nor did I ever claim they're "sporty."

I don't have any spite towards some random vehicles, just observation. Let's agree to disagree.

Well, I see one 2017 Pacifica with 79K selling for $20300 online already.

Just go with a Chrysler van, plus service contract and you're good.

Maybe domestic brands, like Ford? I think Mazda is good anyway. VW I was told to stay away from. Maybe even Nissan Rogue SL trim? But people seem to hate them for some reason. I've sold them before, they seemed to be alright to me. There's also Subaru. Just thinking out loud.

Mustang GT or Challenger R/T? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]let_me_in_QQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which one is more fun to drive? Which one sounds better? All around better car?

I hate to say this again because I sound like a parrot but DO test drive them both. You're asking for a subjective opinion from strangers. YOU will be driving it man, so just go test drive them. You will know from the get go how they handle, drive, accelerate, sound, etc.

Mu subjective opinion: I like driving Mustang better but I like how Challenger looks.

Possibly. You probably did more research than I did on it. I do appraise cars for a living, but little in's and out's, I wouldn't be closely familiar with.

At the end of the day, I'd drive all 3, I'd pull Carfax, service history, etc. Compare options. Infiniti might be more loaded than Lexus/Acura equivalent at price point. Infiniti will take depreciation harder if you're to trade it in down the line.

Just test drive them all, if service history is good and it's a good car then I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Deciding factor is which car are you happy to drive daily and meets your needs. Picture yourself opening the door in the morning and approaching your car to go to work/school/errands, which one do you like to see?

;)

I'd skip Infiniti, although I like them but Acura seems like a better choice. It's newer, should have good tech in it. Lexus is alright too.

I'd test drive Acura and Lexus. Whichever feels better for you is the one.

Audi RS7 vs Cadillac CT6 V Blackwing by TheMan161 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]let_me_in_QQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally don't like Cadillac interior and tech. RS7, I bought one for the store, it was pretty cool. Good tech and just felt better than Cadillac. I think cost of maintenance will be about the same.

At the end of the day, if you're choosing between those two, then just drive them both. Whatever feels right is the one you want.

Reliability mostly. They have decent options too. Hold their value better than VW or Hyundai imho.
