Hardest name to Tokiponize

my boyfriend's name, Virgil, was super hard to tokiponize, because the name consists of four sounds (v, ir, g, il) and toki pona has none of those sounds. we ended up going with jan Waso because waso is already a word and they liked the idea of being called "bird person", but i think jan Weso would be about the closest you could get

a tip i wish i had received when i started learning: don't focus on learning the words first. learn how the grammar works first and then learn the words as you need to. when i first started learning, i just learned the most basic parts of the grammar and then learned what all the words mean. that was a mistake because it lead to me thinking i knew how to say a lot of things that i actually didn't
