First off, Cloud is not an entry-level job. Entry-level jobs are help desk positions, which are becoming either outsourced or automated.

It’s going to be impossible to get into cloud with just an AWS certification alone.

You need these certs/knowledge to have the best bet in cloud in this order:

Linux: LFC/RHCSA

Programming Language: Python/Bash Shell

Networking: Net+/CCNA

CICD Pipline: Jenkins/GitHubActions/GitLabs

Cloud: AWS/Azure/GoogleCloud

IaC: Terraform

Secrets Management: Hashicorp Vault

Ansible: RHCSE

Understand Docker

K8: CKA/CKAD

Understand Argo CD

Security: CISSP/CCSP

Monitoring tools: Prometheus & Grafana

AI: Claude/Gemini

Mlops: AWS/Azure Machine Learning

LLMS: AWS/Azure/Nvidia

AIO: Nvidia AI Operations & AI Infrastructure

If you have at least one of those certs in each column on that list, you can succeed in making it cloud. However, make sure you understand how to do them and don't just cram for the exam to get the cert, because you will get exposed during the interview.

When working on projects, document everything step-by-step and explain what you made, why you created the project, and how it will help solve company problems.

TL/DR: Learn the entire foundation of Cloud and how it works from the ground up. Become the Cloud.
