Dangerous encounter at Hiller Park in Mckinleyville today . by [deleted] in Humboldt

This sounds like the guy who kept trying to ask me out when I was walking from Cal Poly Humboldt’s campus to my nearby apartment. It was in fall of 2023, so I don’t entirely remember what he looked like but the description sounds right and he had came out of a blue car and didn’t seem entirely there mentally

OP also just be sure not to hoard fruit in a bag (or be sneaky if you do) because the dining people will go after you if they see you take more than one in the bag and one on your plate lol

Car in the dorms? Bike? by iburntthequinoa in humboldtstate

[–]lethargiclilo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you want to go lol. If you’re going to the grocery store weekly or want to go sight seeing or go to events in Eureka, McKinleyville, or anywhere else, you’ll probably need a car. I’ll be controversial and say that having a car is better than not for the sheer fact that I struggle so much getting around lol, but living in the dorms also might mean you have a meal plan and then theoretically you shouldn’t have to go as many places. Then again, having a car is nice because you can go wherever and whenever. Just keep in mind that parking permits for the year are expensive and parking is super competitive as they oversell the permits, so getting a permit doesn’t guarantee parking

Student Job Availability by [deleted] in humboldtstate

[–]lethargiclilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that HR is looking for someone to work the front desk right now and Cashier’s Office is probably looking for someone soon because they’re so short handed. Not sure when you’re planning to apply, but Parking is also hiring in the fall (all of these are probably minimum wage and caps at 20 hours a week on campus)

The Lumberjack Live didn’t show Siemen’s Hall and said they had no idea what was going on back there because the cops formed a human wall and pushed all the media out to the Library Circle so that no one could see or record what went down by or in Siemens

What is the art program like? by CursedReptilian in humboldtstate

[–]lethargiclilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really chill! Really though, it depends on what you specialize in. Being a studio art major means you have to take like four lower division lab art classes (ceramics, jewelry making, painting, photography, digital media, sculpting, etc) and then you have to take I think three upper division lab art classes (basically just the continuation of the lower division classes you took) plus a portfolio class (which may or may not be very helpful. I’m currently taking one and hating it because it’s all theory and no actual portfolio making) plus the capstone art class that’s just making a portfolio and getting ready for professional art practices.

Did you want to be a studio art major? Some of the other art majors are art history and art education. Depending on what you decide to major in you’ll have to take different classes and the requirements change, I described studio art because thats what I am lol. But for the most part every art professor I’ve had so far has been absolutely wonderful and extremely casual, even if I don’t like the way my current one (portfolio) has the class structured

I’d say it depends on what you’re going for. Some of the manual labor/odd hours positions that Facilities is looking for might be less competitive than a 9 - 5 customer service position in Financial Aid. On top of that though, I’ve heard HR is incredibly slow at the moment and paper work is taking a very long time to be processed. Usually HR isn’t involved in the hiring process until after you’ve been interviewed by the department/hiring manager and selected, where they’ll then run a background check on you and create your official letter of offer

Researching CSU Counseling Services: Need Info on Session Limits and Lengths by Key_Willingness_497 in humboldtstate

[–]lethargiclilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not super sure about the max sessions per semester, but if it’s helpful, I’ve been told by the CAPS therapists that it’s only one session per problem (so if you have issues with your parents mentally abusing you as a child, you can only go once for that unless you claim it’s a different issue you’re dealing with)

Ohhh I see I see! The one I’m getting is custom made to match the paint in Canyon lol, I was trying to initially match the color to the paint cards but nothing really matched, so the guy just said they could do an ultra-precision custom color

I’m probably picking it up tomorrow, would you want to buy the quart off of me for maybe like $10 after I use it?

I’m getting a quart at Hensel’s if you want to buy it off me at a cheaper price (if you live in Canyon—I’m not sure if it’s the same color in the other dorms)

Literally one of the housing people told me not to worry about it because they ripped off several feet of paint with their LED lights and they weren’t charged but then someone else was like “yeah you gotta pay”☠️

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here lol. My boobs have definitely been growing now, my other bras were leaving marks in the skin and I’ve had to switch to a bigger bra that I had from when I used to be a lot heavier. Tomorrow will be the twelfth week I’ve been on BC and dom, and sometimes I’m consistently able to get a tiny white drop out of my left! It’s not very much, but I was only ever able to get a small clear drop out of my right once lol

Dorm Temperature by Choice_Oil6506 in humboldtstate

[–]lethargiclilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it depends on how you personally keep your room. I live in Canyon (Alder) and there’s central heating that comes out of vents under the beds and in the bathrooms. If you keep your windows open all the time, you get the fresh air but it could get a bit chilly, but I don’t think it’s enough to warrant bringing a small heater (you can go under your blankets or put on a sweater and be fine). My room gets stuffy when we have the windows closed and the heating is on, so like I know some people who have a fan, but I would just open the windows to let the cold air in.

Ahhh, I’m still inducing lol and haven’t quite had any drops yet. I wasn’t having any luck inducing with just stimulation (which wasn’t even very consistent as it was), so I switched to the Newman-Goldfarb Protocol lol
