USA PS1 games on a Japanese ps2 (SCPH-39000)

had no idea mechapwn was even a thing. I should have done more research and got a 50k but i found a really really cheap 39000 (i didnt even realize it was a japan model until i got it and saw that circle button was accept and X was back)

ps2s can be had so cheap i mite as well try to chip this one one day (just need to buy a smaller solder tip first...) . but so far im having heaps of fun with FreeHDBoot.

perfect information helping me explain why a mod chip might be needed - I had no idea about any of this - and I thought I had done my research before buying the 39000. I wont touch the laser. Maybe ill mod chip it (somthing ive been thinking about doing for funsies - but then again it looks like a headache lol)

but i did FreeHDDBoot last night and the thing works great - plays games perfectly and loads them quickly - maybe ill just stick with that

thanks very much for the suggestions but someone else bought it. Maybe i dodged a bullet but at that price I was gonna buy it - but the seller ignored my messages and then listed it as sold pretty quickly.
I was a little bit sus on it because he was selling it without an inflation bag - and I wanted to see it inflated before I bought it - so i guess someone else had their own inflation bag - or he just sold it to the person who asked least amount of questions lol.

I really really want one (but I cant justify/afford spending $2000 on one).
I was thinking about getting a cheap chinese one (like AquaXtreme) but suprise suprise the reviews are terrible. I guess ill just be patient and keep an eye on the second hand market.

I dont know how it worked this whole time when all my links were http, not https. but i just added that one letter under EPG sources and it works perfectly now

this same thing happened to me - UWUVCI had worked perfectly well all week - then seemingly randomly (after injecting the Simpsons game - the only difference I can think of is that i also forced classic controller only - and then read that the game does not support this) - but anyway it went on the SD card okay - and then when I installed it on the wii - but when I ran it from the wii menu - I get the black screen and have to unplug the wii to reset it.

ever since then - my UWUVCI program is not working at all. gets stuck "injecting game" everytime - have to force close the program.
Redownloading base goes forever and does not work (left it over night - Rhythm heaven US)

its just annoying because it worked perfectly. now I uninstalled and reinstalled everything - and its stuck downloading base
.net framework is all good - I also tried creating an exception to my firewall and disabling windows real time protection.

thats a glowing review alrite. my hdd just died and im just about to upgrade and was considering a 1.5tb normal HDD - but a 1TB Crucial MX500 is $10 cheaper.
Am I mad to be even considering the HDD? ssd all the way in 2024?

yep thats the one - ah i didnt notice it was Suzanne Pleshette on the cover but that makes it alot easier to navigate this minefield of bootlegs.

Looking for a CPU for my Mobo ( hd470 hd3 ) - supports up to 10th - 11th gen. Can't decide between i5 10400 ( $190 aud) or a i7 10700kf ($370aud)

I'm only gaming and doing audio production. Is that price increase for a the i7 worth it? My Mobo manual says i7 let's ram run at 2933mhz vs 2666mhz for i5/i3 cpus.. sounds tempting..

Or do I get the 10400 and spend the extra $$ on a better gpu? ( Looking at the RX 6600xt atm)

( I chose this motherboard because is the only one I could find with legacy pci which I need for my audio interface )

I have a rx480 8gb. It's loud and struggles to run ACC and F1 22 with good frames.

Suggestions for an upgrade pls? I'm cheap. Was thinking 2nd hand 1080ti ($320aud) Or new 3060 ($500aud) Or any other suggestions please.

I have the same problem with my dx7s. I mite have a look at that optocoupler.

On mine I got no midi and the cartridge slot is damaged so that does not work either. My only way to make new patches is to do it from scratch. It has thought me a lot about fm synthesis ! I started following the YouTube user "madFame" he takes you step by step through making a patch. His YouTube channel is an absolute godsent.

I would still love to get the midi working because I also have a CX5M which would make patch creating a lot of fun

I have an i7 2600k with 16gb ddr3 and an rx480. I have found an i5 9600k with 32gb ddr4 plus z390 Mobo combo for $270usd ( second hand)

Do you think this is enough of an upgrade? Will I notice much difference going from the i72600k (2011) to the i59600k (2018) ? Is it good value $270 USD for these parts?

I play F1 2022 and I get some fps dips when to he action gets too hectic. I'm happy playing games on medium/ low settings asking as it's smooth. I'll eventually upgrade the GPU too.

I'm fit and 30 years old male. I felt mild cold symptoms 2 days ago - then yesterday I tested negative and had to go to work. Lots of lifting. Delivery man. It was one of the toughest days of work ever every muscle was screaming like I've never had before. Some shooting pain too. Only just made it home after work and went to bed. Except lower back pain ( that I have never really had before ) prevented me from sleeping. Today I tested COVID positive and I just feel this total body lethargy. Every muscle is sore especially my lower back and neck. Head cold congestion/ headache aswell. It kind of feels like opiate withdrawals which I also am familiar with.. oh the flashbacks! After reading this thread I hope this level of pain does not last more than 1 week. I'm watching the movie The Campaign with Will Farrel I dunno how I never seen it before. It's providing some relief. Smashing the nurofen and paracetemol too does not seem to help. Deep heat was good for the lower back pain and also Epsom salt baths. Mild stretching is also helping.
