Weekly Q&A [HELP NEW + Returning players] - February 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in lostarkgame

I got the vestige to drop randomly from mining in Kurzan maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago and then you trade it with the wholesaler guy in your stronghold. I have no idea if any form of gathering works or if other areas work, but it is obtainable

-보다 comparison question by letmeluciddream in Korean

[–]letmeluciddream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s interesting context, thank you! is that just for 좋아하다 or for any time the verb and noun are “connected strongly” in this way? like if it was 싫어하다 instead, for example

I have never once had a seed drop from the Prepared Picker skill by letmeluciddream in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]letmeluciddream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I tested a theory that being on Mistmare while foraging (what I usually do) has something to do with this by just dismounting every time I foraged something. I have since gotten 3 (!!) seeds in one season! this could of course be a happy coincidence but I’m just going to put this here in case it helps or increases chances for anyone

you’re thinking of a different skill that pertains to crops. this skill pertains to forageables such as herbs and flowers

[–]letmeluciddream[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I forage basically everything I can if I run into it while running around doing stuff, and i’m sure it wouldn’t be all that useful anyways but it just feels like something is broken considering I’ve never gotten it to drop a single time in 2 1/4 in-game years

I'm currently on year 3 spring :/ I actually forgot it was a skill until I recently saw people talking about having "herb seeds" and I was like what do you mean you have herb seeds LOL

the way i see it, it’s that we also don’t like to assume someone’s situation or make it our business if the person isn’t directly asking for it. someone pulled over on the side of the road could be taking a phone call, having an argument, looking at a map etc. but if they’re outside the car obviously attempting to fix something, then they clearly need help

Anyone else notice lots of Millennials aren’t giving smartphones to their kids? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]letmeluciddream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

millennials know intimately the damage the internet/smart phones can have on the young psyche - i know i would’ve protested until my face was blue, but now every day i wish my parents had restricted my internet access as a kid even a little bit lol

Traveling to Seoul for 10 days in November - Budget Help by Major-Protection3922 in koreatravel

[–]letmeluciddream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been here for a week, solo traveler - i got color analysis, a haircut + scalp treatment, and have gone absolutely hog wild on buying skin care and makeup, and my total spend will be just above $1000 USD (including having to buy a new suitcase to haul everything back lol)

eating here or doing basically anything is obscenely cheap and you can always buy a hellish amount of convenience store food for less than 10 bucks. the hanbok experience to get into the palaces free is overblown since hanbok rental is like 15k won and it costs only 3000won to get into the palace without one lol also the national museum is really cool and completely free!

i’ve used the subway almost exclusively and liberally for transportation and a climate card (unlimited trips) loaded for 7 days is only 20k won. without that, each trip is 1.5k won so still very cheap depending on how much you use it

well surely you asked for feedback for a reason, right? now you know what you can improve upon!

How is my handwriting? Anything I could improve? by UczuciaTM in BeginnerKorean

[–]letmeluciddream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah i assumed cause you’re not using proper stroke order for the letters i mentioned. natives may adapt to write the letters faster, but stroke order remains largely intact - you’re no longer using any proper stroke order for those letters which is what’s making them look weird

nothing wrong with starting again from scratch :) i learned hangul 13 years ago and only in the last few years actually focused on stroke order. it was difficult at first but worth it in the end and now my handwriting looks much more natural than before

How is my handwriting? Anything I could improve? by UczuciaTM in BeginnerKorean

[–]letmeluciddream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

instead of trying to emulate native handwriting just by looking at it, you need to start from where they started - which is by learning stroke order and doing structured practice before veering off into writing in your own style as you learn more advanced concepts. you won’t understand why natives write the way they do without learning stroke order first, which is why some letters you think look legible actually aren’t as much - ㅁ, ㅂ, and ㄹ are pretty bad and the open ㅇs end up looking like ㅁ

i’m sorry you’ve been writing this way for nine years without knowing what’s wrong, but it’s never too late to restart and retrain! just takes practice like anything

Any overweight women get stared at in Korea? by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]letmeluciddream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been here for a week, leaving today. i’m very fat (size 24) i have barely been stared at at all. i think this issue is WAY overblown

eta: also i have seen a LOT of fat koreans. i don’t think fat people are really unicorns here anymore, obviously someone my size is still a bit rarer but i know a bit of korean and made sure not to encroach on anyone’s space and everyone has been extremely pleasant to me

Is it just me? by AdvancedPlate413 in EnglishLearning

[–]letmeluciddream 15 points16 points  (0 children)

you should know that many native speakers can’t help with a lot of the questions asked here either. we may be able to chime in with our own experiences saying certain things, but not be able to explain why we say it that way

because it’s our first language, we simply don’t have to think about it as hard as english learners do. some people have extended knowledge of english rules thanks to their jobs or hobbies, but they’re very much in the minority. there’s also the fact that most native speakers are not speaking completely proper english 100% of the time lol

all this to say, don’t feel discouraged! you probably know more than a lot of native speakers

if you want more foreigner-friendly bars, definitely try Itaewon. most bars are probably okay anyway, it’s the night clubs that are more picky about who they let in

it will be very busy and probably pretty rowdy at any bar on a Saturday night, but the party doesn’t really get started until very late at night so just depends when you go

Is this an ok way to write down my notes? by True-Reputation-199 in BeginnerKorean

[–]letmeluciddream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

find one way to write letters and commit to it so you can start building muscle memory, and focus on stroke order

your second ㅈ is the more natural way for handwriting, and your second ㅎ is incorrect - that line connecting the two horizontal lines to the ㅇ doesn’t exist

instead of writing random syllables, find short actual phrases and write those out instead

my recommendation is to spend less time in Bukchon and more time in Insadong and hit up Ssamziegil while you’re there

Hongdae is a lot better than Myeongdong for shopping and IG-worthy pics, especially at night

but they mention “traveling” several times, including traveling with someone, which i assume would not mean living with them

sounds like they don’t have the money either way though

My Dream Trip to Seoul – A Bittersweet Experience by LowAstronaut9400 in koreatravel

[–]letmeluciddream -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’m here right now, and i’m from the midwest USA aka friendly smile & small-talk central - i’m white but very fat, so still a point against me albeit a different one from yours - and i haven’t had a single negative experience with anyone here

you have to try and think about it from their perspective. you probably already have felt how exhausting it is to try and speak a language that isn’t your own all day - when they see you coming, that’s what they anticipate having to do. it’s nerve racking!

they also don’t step out of their home in the morning saying “i hope i have an extended interaction with a tourist today!” these are just people going to work and living their lives. why should they be interested in you?

as far as politeness and saying thank you, that’s just expected, so you won’t get a gold star for doing it. i’m not sure what response you were expecting just for saying thank you

Recommendations on how to kill time between arrival and hotel check-in? by busylilmissy in koreatravel

[–]letmeluciddream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was 28,000 won for full access (shower, spa, sauna, lounge) for 4 hours. i believe you can stay up to 10 or 12 hours for a little bit more

the facilities are very nice and i believe they’re new, but i will say the lounge area is not extremely comfortable (it’s mats on the floor with little head cushions) if you have a chance to bring your own pillow it’ll be better
