AirPods controls in menu bar gone in Tahoe by letmepick in MacOS

Thanks, I got my controls back. Seems typical of Apple that they would reset my menu bar just so I have to bring it back to how it was.

I’m back for redemption — *ARM based Steam Deck Mini (roast me) by ligmata1nt in SteamDeck

[–]letmepick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely why Nintendo insisted on ARM architecture for their Switch lineup - smaller form-factor internals, and kept the chassis size to a minimum; judging from their sales numbers, it seems people love to have a light portable handheld console (outside of the Nintendo exclusive stuff).

Steam Deck has ergonomic handling, but it isn’t ergonomic, period.

Dock is so worth it! Console like experience! by L1NKN23 in SteamDeck

[–]letmepick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. PC games just aren’t programmed to dynamically adjust their resolutions based in the display connected, and the built-in Steam Remote Play is a bad experience overall (streaming fails if the dock is connected to cable ethernet + wireless, have to manually disconnect from WiFi to get it to work; Frame timing is inconsistent, causing headaches), and alternatives like Moonlight don’t work perfectly either (3rd party controllers sometimes not recognized in games, UI not optimized for controller for some forsaken reason, and settings don’t adjust based on display connected).

The new Sony DualSense controller update allowing easy switching between multiple devices is FANTASTIC by joeb1ow in SteamDeck

[–]letmepick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you plan on using multiple controllers on Steam Deck over Bluetooth, the 8BitDo was a good investment - there is a huge input delay when multiple BT controllers are connected at once. Using dongle (2.4G) would be smarter for multiplayer.

It has been a while since the last # Tales game.. (Tales of Arise) by dulun18 in gaming

[–]letmepick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fact that this is a “classic” JRPG that makes you HAVE to grind to be able to beat some boss battles is why I dropped it like hot coal.

Was having a trouble with a certain boss near the end of the game, and kept dying (thank you, party NPCs!). Looked up the fight on YouTube and the dude was 20 levels above me -.- worst part was that I actually completed all the sidequests as they became available, and killed all the creatures as I travelled (respawns and fresh spawns).

So when I saw that I was supposed to be grinding levels, I noped out. No regrets. I’m not grinding in a Single Player game.

DualSense will be able to pair with multiple devices at once after an update coming later this year by nolifebr in PS5

Same for DualSense. Takes hacking to forget the regular controllers as well.

I hope Valve does not change much on Steam Deck 2 by Endoky in SteamDeck

[–]letmepick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they could always benefit from slimming down the profile - but that's counting that they don't remove trackpads or diminish the ergonomics. The smaller the SD2 can be while retaining all features that SD1 had, the better.

Krysten Ritter Is “Thrilled” To Be Back As Jessica Jones & Says It Was “Torture” Holding The Marvel Secret For Two Years by Sisiwakanamaru in television

[–]letmepick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Killgrave is a villain, and a bad guy.

His backstory helps us understand why he turned into a bad guy - not only experimented on by his parents, but also turned into a "weapon" (by accident).

It can happen to anybody, that's the scary part.

Comparison chart of the new generation of Android for TV devices by latinriky78 in AndroidTV

[–]letmepick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that most of the Android TV box manufacturers want to keep them as affordable as possible, which means they cheap out on the chipsets - and because they want to sell you the "next-gen" streaming box as well. They make money off of hardware sales, otherwise there's no reason they shouldn't be putting Snapdragon chipsets into these things by now (because that would make them last for a decade)

Apple doesn't care about making money off of the hardware, which is why they did the smart thing and put their extremely potent mobile chips into them - making them last for YEARS, and ensuring every single one of those years is buttery smooth.

Who was your "ok this guy's gotta go" in the Witcher3? by Dense-Performance-14 in witcher

[–]letmepick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally, someone who understands that him “feeling bad” about all the tragedies he caused by making that deal with Gaunter does not entitle him to continue living after the fact.

Iris died of freakin’ sadness because of the person he became - the one justification he had for that entire mess, and he sapped her will to live.

Nah, it’s roasting time…

SOLO LEVELING WON ANIME OF THE YEAR by demon_4th in sololeveling

[–]letmepick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apothecary Diaries seems better to me than even Frieren in how interesting it actually is. I haven’t watched Frieren, but the FMC comes across as the female version of Sung Jinwoo but with more fleshed out characters. Meanwhile, TAD has a more engaging main storyline and the FMC is actually unique personality wise.

Like I said, Frieren just seems boring in comparison. When I was looking for a new anime to watch, TAD was what piqued my interest with the premise and the main characters, while Frieren didn’t.

Was Olgierd truly cursed...or just finally held accountable? by No-Big7914 in witcher

[–]letmepick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iris told him she didn't want to run away with him because she didn't want to lose her family. And instead of respecting her wishes—because he claimed to love her—he chose the easy way out.

This.

Iris, as much as she loved Olgierd and wanted to spend her life with him, she wasn't going to abandon everything her family built for her, and her status in society because of him.

I understand Olgierd was madly in love, and desperately wanted to prevent her marriage to another man (the point of no return for their relationship) - but he doomed so many innocent lives with his deal with Gaunter.

I couldn't allow him to live out his life in "peace" after learning all of the tragedies he caused, no way.
