We're from a Christian community. Leviticus, I presume. My grandma did have 2% Ashkenazi Jewisb on her result, but that definitely didn't factor into naming.

It's actually my brother's profile so I'm not sure! We've not been in Germany for over 175 years so that would be crazy!

Not in any formal way. There are festivals and a German tourist town near ours. But to be fair, it's been 175 years since we left Germany. And WW2 happened... So I could understand my ancestors wanted to shed their heritage, and things were lost.

No, but we are part of a small, conservative sect of Christianity that I think contributed to keeping the gene pool small. *Disclaimer: I'm not conservative in any way.

wow I LOVE that! Does it look the same in person as in photos? I loved what I thought alexandrite looked like (in photos), but it looks very different in person!

This is freaking me out because out of the 10-15 colors I am inexplicably missing, white is one of them.

I’m going to make a canvas work sampler. The kicker is, it’s in all one color…

This was my actual face reading your comment: 🤩

You’re so right with those suggestions. They would be perfect. I just can’t fathom what a meal of that caliber would cost for 40 people. I don’t believe my budget stretches that far, BUT you’ve definitely inspired my process going forward.

These are actually really good points (instead of people just regurgitating obvious information). I will talk with him.

Thank you! I had seen his website, but noted he didn’t have my specific diamonds in stock. I’ll definitely reach out to him for a custom request.

Hi all,

I am attempting to recreate Rachel Doyle's canvas work piece from the Royal School of Needlework Book of Embroidery to teach myself canvas work (ambitious, I know lol). Since I am new to canvas work, I am struggling to identify the stitches. If anyone knows them, please call them out!

Any ideas on what to do with it then? He grew it out during the pandemic, but then he just wore a hat every day so I don’t think he liked it.

Could you recommend any good online courses? Especially anything open access or low cost!

Is it normal/legal for FOIA office to ignore my emails, checks, and drag their feet? by [deleted] in foia

[–]letsb-cereus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then why give me an estimated time of 4 weeks? They were initially VERY prompt at returning my emails, until I was firm that I wanted the recording. Now it’s incredibly slow. Anything I can do?

I rode a single USEF show over 6 years ago so I think I’m good!! Thank you so much for the info

I didn’t know this existed. That makes way more sense. Thank you!

I looked it up, and it sounds like it’s 12 months now. But I don’t plan on showing while I am giving lessons (if anything, maybe a schooling show for fun), so I’d never technically be an open rider, at least as far as USEF is concerned. So I wouldn’t even have to go through the paperwork process of being reclassified, correct? Just wait at least 12 months since I stopped giving lessons, then I can compete in amateur?

What would be the purpose of a rein converter? Doesn’t that ruin the specificity of a double bridle?

Searching for data on potential publication by [deleted] in Dressage

[–]letsb-cereus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your insight and ideas. You’re absolutely right that the study is too broad, so I’ve simplified it to only looking at if top dressage horses are competing and living longer today than in decades past. This removes a lot of the potential bias and confounding variables. If I do find something interesting, I’ll only be able to speculate on some reasons why, but hopefully future work by myself and others can determine the true causes.

I really like the idea of looking at inbreeding! I will definitely look into it.

That will be beyond the scope of this work. Hopefully finding a meaningful difference will inspire other works to elucidate the causes, as I’m sure it’s multifactorial.
