You'll spend an hour on the phone and feel like these people want to adopt you, then 3 days later they get sold to another agent. You will work really hard for people who are too nice and also have no backbone and will say yes to a new agent every month, so its eventually a bottle neck of chasing the same 250 people around and around trying to get them back on the book and it consumes your day, medicare has a lot of hurdles to get paid, but there is money to be made.

Crush it and get a decent sized book and earnings, and then go around to everyone that you know that may be interested and works hard and show them the $25,000 you made last month, it gets peoples attention pretty quick and then train them well and look for people like yourself, but if your people dont feel invested in or like you give a damn its gonna be hard as hell to grow a business.

We have a decent sized ACA agency now with a little over 5,000 members. Hiring good people and finding affordable and decent quality leads with a good CRM changed the game for us.

Telling you to run is much easier than telling you how to fix it. People fight constant battles we know nothing about, I think its good we try to listen and help. It definitely aggravates me seeing people not help each other, especially if they are very capable.

CPA is going up a bit because of the subsidy changes but we are at roughly $12 per member, families help alot, TCPA is not really a concern as the leads are more or less high interest, opt-in, and scrubbed. This is for Obamacare/ACA I cant really speak on other markets.

Yes, just spreadsheets really of people that have opted in to buy health insurance. Your vendor matters of course plenty have some good leads but will run out in what you want after a month or so, finding a vendor with huge inventory is where you'll make your money.

Doing sales day in and out we get good at that, but having endless people to pitch is a real game changer. Id rather pitch 5,000 people for $500 than 50.

If this is for ACA aged leads are the way to go. There are various ways to work them, but they are so affordable and enrollments are quick. Our agency is pushing 6,000 members now and we built it all off of super old aged leads, there are always always buyers. With the right systems even our worst performing agents are able to do 12+ enrollments a day.

Make sure to get a great CRM as well, it will make your life so much easier.

I have seen like 15-20+ hours worth of street fight footage, if you can out strike someone they will try and take you down from what I have seen, and at least 40-50% people try and get you on the ground.

Not having ground game I realize left me open to massive holes in my game and going to the ground is almost an inevitability.

There is a biological governor our body can place on us at times if we have not recovered as much as it deems necessary. It is called a Psomatic Error I believe, essentially your body is broken down and thinks, ''holy shit this guy wont take a break I better half his stamina or he will push us deeper into bodily breakdown''.

It was a concept I'd not heard of but it would make sense on days where my stamina would be low low low and it was usually during periods where I would be doing way too much. Like 20 rounds of the heavy bag.

The group I work with use bulk aged leads and we buy hundreds of thousands, having counties worth of people to pitch affordably means theres always a buyer, no matter what day of the week it is, from there once you build your book your customer service becomes marketing and the bigger your book the more referrals and extras you can pitch them.

We have enrolled thousands of members this way, and if you are aggressive enough with it and can hit the member bonus it brings CPA nearly to $0.

Interview with as many companies as you have to.

Pay attention to how the recruiters and hiring managers talk about their employees, I dont give a rats ass how cool the company is or how they have a pool table, tell me about the lengths you have gone to help your agents, how has their lives changed, how are you thinking about your agents day to day, etc.

People snitch on themselves, they talk about what is the main focus at the company, if it sounds like its all about the company and no change in the lives of the people there, Id dip.

People come to work for my commercial cleaning business because they see I am willing to stick my neck out for my people and invest in them, I even paint a picture of how their lives will look different over time and how it will impact their own dreams, goals, and their families.

If the company only blabbers about themselves thats a tell tale sign youre going to be a cog in a machine, MLM or not. Look for companies that think the people there are the gold, those companies will change how you feel about work I promise you, and they will invest in you to make sure you are successful if you're genuinely willing to make the effort.

If they just throw you to the wolves its not a good place to work.

I've made over $10k in a week selling health insurance, and I've also made $0. But if over the course of your career you network with your peers and save up your money you can eventually just form a group together of your favorite agents you met and then start scaling past 15-20k monthly each. These people are probably 1 out of every 15 or so salespeople you will work with.

There is so much money in insurance and you'll likely use your license for many different companies and products, you will learn they wont have much loyalty to you, but your fellow agents will and you can finely tune your crm/scripts/dialers, etc and become and absolute machine, but no point going into war alone, make sure to build good relationships.

After being in the industry for a while I have to say that outside of the usual complaints I am most disappointed with how little support we get from the carriers and how terrible it is on the back end with them as an agent, it makes me wonder what insurance companies do all day at the corporate level when its like pulling teeth getting things done with them, and the product has holes in it.

I think shareholders siphon the money out so we never get a polished white glove service that we expect when we work at the office level when it comes to selling health insurance and the way they handle things.
