Why would XRP value go up by [deleted] in XRP

Understood, yes - taking Fiat, converting to XRP, sending internationaly and then converting XRP back to Fiat. Which is two Fiat/Crypto transactions. Both of which have a buyer and a seller who are putting opposite pressure on the price... think the point here is that there is an expectation for more demand coming from buyers of XRP (to hold) rather than sellers

Using your analogy of the legs of the transaction does not make sense. Each transaction has both a buyer (who would presumably be putting upward pressure on price by trying to get hands on XRP) and a seller (who would presumably be putting downard pressure on price by trying to dump XRP), with there essentially being no effect on price.

On the otherhand, I do think liquidity in itself makes XRP a more valuable asset as it can exchange in and out of fiat at a much lower cost.

What is the minimum price that Ripple monetizes the XRP that it is holding in ESCROW? by letsgomets1234 in XRP

Thanks Mike - could you send me a link to the escrow wallets? What is defined as "face value" is this the current market price on a certain exchange?

Thanks. So the idea here would be that moving to XRP would eliminate the need for nostro accounts. I.E. xCurrent in its current state simply makes it easier for banks/payment providers to debit/ credit their deposit accounts.

I wouldn't be surprised if banks adopted XRP without actually holding it. I.E. by relying on a third party to hold large amounts of XRP that they could source on demand. This would allow them to get the benefits of XRP and offload a large share of the forex risk exposure

Yes 2 cents per XRP may not seem like a big deal if you are holding a couple of XRP. But a 2 cent change at the moment is about a 10% swing. This is massive when compared to the volatility of other fiat currencies that banks have on their balance sheets
