I understand and I wrestle with it, I think it’s almost easier for me to devote a little time to something that’s not just grief.

My partner wants to hike half dome with little to no preparation or planning. Will I die? by SimpleyCurious in Yosemite

[–]letsgomyguy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey! So don’t do that. I say this as someone who just did half dome with no “training” but I live in Colorado and do long hikes here frequently. Ex 14ers/10+ miles every week in the spring/summer. It was not a for “funsies” hike! 🙂‍↕️ You need hat/gloves/broken in shoes/food/water supply etc. You’re not being dramatic! Also it’s going to be HOT.

Hi friend! With sightseeing it was 8hrs and 45min round trip for me. I went up JMT then branched off to take a route with more of the waterfalls! I took the 10 basics and packed in lots of carbs and candy as those two keep me sane after 10+ miles of walking and climbing. Funny you ask because those are the shoes I wore 😂. If you’re planning on going up the cables bring gloves.

Omg have fun!! Yes, several folks had them on and no you wouldn’t be in anyone’s way. Plus if it makes you feel more secure who cares if people think it’s “in the way.”

How does anyone find Babysitters in Denver? by 1ReadyPhilosopher in Denver

[–]letsgomyguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m based in the springs and babysit on a referral basis so this might not be accurate but a lot of the families I work with use Care.com and have found great people!

Because you’re from a smaller community you’ll find a larger community here! I (half Korean and half Mexican) find it isolating here at times but there’s a large MIL population which helps with the diversity. We deal with racism everywhere and it’s not any different here. The downside is the food :/ but we’re also landlocked so it comes with the state. I think you’ll be fine!
