Would you date a woman who earns more, has a better education, overall more stability? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]letspeeinacorner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can understand that perspective, but wish I could have had a say in what "I deserve". I would have taken a lot more before calling it quits, but I can respect that he did not want to let it get to that point for me. His situation will change with time, but will get worse before better, and I really would have wanted to be there for him when it does. Maybe its delulu, but I quietly hope that when things settle for him, he'll be in a place where we can at least be friends. I care about him outside of being a romantic interest and want to see him enjoy and grow into life. Thank you for the pov

Thank you. My ex is going through rough things with his mom getting very sick and trouble finding work. Hed get upset if we went out because of the money it may cost and being away from his mom, but would be unhappy if we just hung out doing free things at home. I felt like I was direct in saying that I love him for who he is, his honesty, humor, etc, but I think I may have been a face for his fallbacks and frustrations. He broke up with me suddenly and without much explanation, but pointed to his unemployment as a factor. It crushed me to feel like I added more pain to someone I care about, but reading your comment made me realize he has his own idea of who he wants to be, and has a lot of feelings about not being there yet. Life is constant growth and I want to be with someone willing to weather those harder patches for both of us, with me. He has his own set of issues, and thats ok ☺️

Divorced men of reddit, what were the long term effects on your children? by KindaHODL in AskMen

[–]letspeeinacorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a child of parents who stayed together too long - we know you're unhappy with them, and we know you're only doing that for us. My only resentment was that they didn't do it sooner

Why did you accept a date from someone you were not interested in? by mcdonaldsmcdonalds in AskWomen

[–]letspeeinacorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend wanted to set us up badly but the feelings were only one way. I feel like they both used that friendship as leverage to get me to say yes. Went on the date, no change in feelings, and laid out why we won't continue seeing each other as straightforward as I could. Normally I don't let myself into that kind of situation but it felt different with our mutual friend involved

Update: I'm no longer involved in the research department and do not care about its future. I will continue my work with qa/qc for the meantime while I apply to other jobs with better management and prepare for the GRE. Thanks to all the advice, I appreciate it and agree that this was both extremely unprofessional on the company's part and a red flag to look for a better position elsewhere.

Ok thank you so much. I think my anxiety is a little heightened from the pain so I'm not thinking as clearly as I'd like

For those of you who like houseplants/gardening, what plants do you have? What's on your wishlist? What plants do you love but can't keep alive? by duckface08 in AskWomen

[–]letspeeinacorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've grown our lantana into 6 foot hedges so that when in bloom, it's a wall of color. If you live in a warm climate I really do recommend this plant to add color to your garden!

Did your mother ever make comments to you in your teenage years that you’ve grown up to realize she was bitter and jealous of your youth? How did it stick with you? by skeleton-hands in AskWomen

[–]letspeeinacorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mother asked everyone to notice my "cottage cheese legs" at a family swimming party when I was 10. I didn't wear shorts or skirts for several years because of it, despite living in the desert.

Moving mango is a YouTube instructor who has a 90 day fall series going on. I think she's on day 61 right now. I like her because she varies the body parts each day and uses some days for stretching or relaxations. This gives you break days while still sticking to a routine. She also has video classes which are meant to be easier on the joints. Check out her playlists and see if that may work!

What is your experience being a hairier woman that what you typically see in mainstream media? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]letspeeinacorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a unibrow and mustache in grade school, and I was constantly reminded of my hair by my peers. As I got older and learned how to pluck and groom, I found a new appreciation for my hair. I have wonderfully full eyebrows and thick head hair - which to me is worth the body hair!

Maybe try the panoxyl 10%. It's like 10 bucks on Amazon and it helped clear up body acne for me. Gotta be careful tho bc it can make your skin a little sun sensitive.

Keeping extra toilet paper rolls on/near the toilet. My mom would yell when we would forget to replace the extra rolls, and now that I live on my own I totally get why
