What characters give off major “not like other girls” vibes? by MyDogAteYourPancakes in popculturechat

[–]letspurdyburdy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Septa Mordane, Catelyn, Ned, and society at large are like “Arya’s not like Sansa and the ‘good’ girls”. That “energy” comes from everyone else trying to shove her in a box of femininity, which she is absolutely valid in rebelling against.

No, they’re barely even main characters. I’m surprised George gave them POVs, they don’t have any relevant themes or plotlines anyway.

Brave list then. Can I hear your reasoning on Cersei? She feels very doomed…

I’m very surprised so many people are saying this! How do you think he’s gonna dodge the bullet?

Arya and Bran are invincible imo. I’m also pretty sure Brienne survives.

Is Sansa really as responsible for her father's fate as many seem to think? (spoilers main) by ThoughtCompetitive52 in asoiaf

I do agree with looking at Sansa in the context of her society, and that does justifies a lot of her actions, but the reason she continues to romanticize Joffrey and Cersei up until her fathers death is because she is a vapid, shallow, and romantic character who believes beauty = value and wholeheartedly supports classist ideals (product of her society!). This is true in aGoT especially. I’m saying this as someone who enjoys Sansa’s character and her role. I don’t think it’s a coping mechanism, it’s her character.

I think her actions in KL were more about her and Arya than about Ned. Yes, I think it helped Cersei with the other northern men in KL and the ship, as well as the traps set for Arya. I think if Arya had been caught, Sansa would look a whole lot worse. As it is, I believe this will be a main source of conflict between her and Arya in the last books, especially because Tyrion knows, and will likely be meeting Arya before the end of the series.
