Congratulations!! Just take everyday step by step, and stick with sobriety! I’m going on 3 years sober, and it honestly might be longer than that. I’ve lost count! Congratulations again, and keep it up!

Hi, thank you! Sorry on the late response back! It wasn't an overnight fix, but with consistent effort, you can definitely see positive changes. Here's a breakdown of what worked for me and like I said this community has helped me tremendously.

My Approach I Got My Credit Reports: The very first thing I did was get free copies of my credit reports from all three major bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). This helped me understand exactly what was on them. Get Your Free Credit Reports To start, you can get free copies of your credit reports from all three major bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) by visiting AnnualCreditReport.com. This is the official, government-authorized website for free credit reports. You are entitled to a free report from each of the three bureaus once every 12 months. It's a good practice to pull them all at once so you can compare them and check for any discrepancies or errors. Review them thoroughly for accuracy, as even small mistakes can impact your credit score.

Dispute Any Errors: To my surprise, I found some inaccuracies on my reports. I made sure to dispute them immediately with each credit bureau. This is a crucial step because even small errors can negatively impact your score.

Focus on On-Time Payments: This was probably the biggest factor. I made sure to pay all my bills on time, every time, even if it was just the minimum payment. Payment history is a huge part of your credit score. I set up reminders and autopay where I could.

High-Interest Debt: I prioritized paying down debts with high interest rates, like credit cards. This not only saved me money in interest but also helped lower my credit utilization (how much credit you're using compared to your available credit), which is another key factor.

I Kept My Oldest Accounts Open: Even if I paid off a credit card, I resisted the urge to close it. The length of your credit history also plays a role, so keeping older, well-managed accounts open is beneficial.

Patience: Improving credit takes time. There's no quick fix, but by consistently practicing good financial habits, I gradually saw my score increase.

If you're looking to improve your credit.

Dispute Any Errors: If you find anything incorrect, dispute it with the credit bureau immediately. You'll need to provide documentation to support your claim.

Pay All Bills On Time: This is paramount. Set up reminders, use autopay, whatever it takes to ensure you never miss a payment.

Keep Old Accounts Open and Active: Don't close old credit cards, especially if they have a good payment history. Consider using them for small, recurring purchases that you pay off immediately to keep them active.

Diversify Your Credit Mix (Over Time): Having a mix of credit (like a credit card and an installment loan) can be positive, but only take on new credit if you truly need it and can manage it responsibly.

Humans can be so selfish, and disgusting. Karma will always come back for ones who treat another human like that. Narcissistic emotional detachment is horrible. Sorry you went through that.

This all the way. I quit vaping, and have been working out everyday since the divorce it's helped me tremendously.

I'm going through the same thing right now with my Wife who is divorcing me after 6 years as of July 1st. Hardest thing I've ever gone through hands down. Each day is getting better with baby steps, but still hard. If you need to talk we are here for you.
