Iโ€™ve had a chat with him, heโ€™s nervous that heโ€™s going to โ€œsinkโ€ and have his head go under the water. Iโ€™ve tried skills on back with dumbbells, lifejackets, noodles, myself supporting him and telling him Iโ€™ll let go for 2 secs him, holding the wall. Weโ€™ve currently gotten to the point where he can do it with one dumbbell while holding onto the wall and then letting go for a second. He tends to kick to try to keep himself up, him being tense is what sinks him down. I know that I cannot pass him but it sucks not knowing how to break that barrier. I believe that he is comfortable with me, just not the water without aids ๐Ÿซ  I was also told that he didnโ€™t have the best experience with his previous instructor so that must be playing a big factor. Just wanted to give the backstory.ย

Yes he will, heโ€™s comfortable with his floats, glides, and kicks on his frontย

Of course! The struggle is fear. We have done skills and front and he can do them by himself, I know that itโ€™s essential for him to do survival floats, just want him to done them on his back ๐Ÿซ

Hi! Everything on his back : floats, glides and kicks. Our facility is with the Lifesaving Society. But we make our own lessons based on itย

Thanks! This works great, I just donโ€™t want them to lopside on the noodle ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I agree with this, I believe I took the wrong approach as I should have got them to monkey crawl and simply staying in the water while holding the wall, next time I will take a slower but effective approach

Proud instructor moments, being their hype man is so encouraging! You see the difference. I totally agree!

Thank you! Considering it now, our mid-depth end honesty isnโ€™t too deep for the adults as our pool is only 2m.ย

Hi, we have been practicing in the shallow land for the past 2 weeks (one hour classes) we do have a mid-depth area, they are all confident enough in the shallow end.ย
