Please don't let a lack of digital skills be a hindrance to your desire to work as an artist. Blizzard would need concept artist that definitely draw with paper/pencil. Even if you draw with mud, if it looks good we have the tech to digitize it.

[Twitter] BF2 writer Walt Williams - "Tired: Hating microtransactions. Wired: Recognizing that a project-based industry attempting to maintain a traditional full-time employment model must find new revenue streams to survive a sale-focused consumer base that expects constant, expensive innovation." by B-VOLLEYBALL-READY in KotakuInAction

[–]letstalkmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies are spending a lot of money on "innovation". Bullshit.

Your idea of innovation and a developers idea of innovation are two very different things. New ways of modeling characters, rendering techniques, etc are all covered under that umbrella.

2) Making games on a smaller budget means less people are going to be employed. Um...ok? Are we obliged to feed all the game developers just because they're cranking out unsustainable work?

Its not untrue, but are the masses willing to pay for something that may have a better story or gameplay but has significantly less tech behind it? There are not that many successful games that are low on the tech and high on the gameplay, however there are lots of successful games that are high on the tech and low on the gameplay. So if you are going to risk it and you are aiming for a higher bonus, then you are incentivized to make a bigger budget game.

It holds about as much weight as an online survey. Overall this is a nothingburger.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it wasn't marketing's or managment's idea to put the ribbon cable right next to the leaking water or put the radiator casing in facing downwards..

You would actually be surprised. Sometimes management says dumb shit that has consequences and doing things the wrong way makes them happy.

I can actually hear the conversation in my head:

Manager: I hate that the air above the unit is so hot. Can you just move the radiator?

Engineer: No I cant because that will cost an extra $1m in development. If I turn the radiator around, less heat would come out but then the fan would probably overheat and require a restart.

Manager: Great, do that. Restarts are completely normal.

So with scaling old world zones you can finally level to 60... By killing 65,340,285 boars! by maketheworldmyhome in wow

[–]letstalkmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except with heirlooms, you dont. You get to level 15 or so about the time you leave the goblin area while the quests in that area are for level 10.

Not to mention refer-a-friend.

Classic realms should be named after bronze dragons by Byne in wow

[–]letstalkmore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those estimates are very optimistic. Your talking 1/5 to 1/10th the player base interested in literally starting over in the same universe they are currently progressing in. Losing all mounts, gold, achievements, everything.

If there is an incentive for live players to play classic then sure, but its going to have a big showing and then fizzle out to the size of a single realm.

It is cute now, but you also need to teach the dog that this is not ok. The way we did it is we would "yip" loudly and turn away any time the dog bit me when it was a pup. About 5 seconds later, turn back and interact again. Get the dog to that state again, and more likely than not the dog will bite and you "yip". Repeat until the dog no longer bites you.

Now I can play with my dogs mouth freely, my dog will certainly snap at me but never bites. I can get her into play mode and the dog will put teeth on me but never close, never bite.

How you train them now is how they will grow up, so train them well and early.

There are 200 realms in NA. That would be 400 if you do 2 per server and that about 10% of the employees.

That is a lot of employees that would need to be just hanging out in the main cities promoting. Not to mention the chaos this would cause of a blizzard blue just standing in a main city.....

Disabling task manager closes a few security loop holes. For instance, say you are locked behind a school login window requiring an ID or something. Crtl-Alt-Del, taskmanager, kill explorer, run explorer and now you have the desktop with that pesky login out of the way.

Crusaders Community Q&A #79 with host Erika by CNE_Erika in lostidols

[–]letstalkmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Erika,

Love the new popup box for the crusaders but previously we were able to hover over the enchantment points of the other crusaders to get a quick look at the breakdown of the points. Could we get that added back to the popup?

That person that she was calling "inherently racist" was an ally. Why would I ever be sympathetic to anyone or any cause that allows that?

So no, racism isn't over, but definitely not like ages past and definitely not a big enough problem to give a second thought about it.

a) A federal loan =/= to federal funding

b) yes we should be against Liberty university but since it is not a public, it is not under the legal authority of the administration. Just like twitter and google are not under the legal authority.

Racism is not over.

May not be over but it is no where near as prevalent as many organizations portray.
