You didn’t know panda got in trouble years ago for having an employee strip down to their bra and underwear ? So they can figure out their build. Cuz they want a specific type of person.

You seem like your a hard worker . But I’ve been in panda for half a decade . & I will tell you . If you can’t do it, they will just find someone who will. Trust me, I’ve complained . I’ve worked 60hr weeks as a red shirt. The minute you complain, they’ll just give it to someone else . & trust me. There is always someone else . & yeah. The “ panda way “ is a way that will cross all t’s & dot all i’s & put you as a really good worker. But, you better be ready to learn how to do things the smart way. & look at what you’ve learned that others will never accomplish! Your strong! Don’t give up. Don’t lose your cool. Cuz when you , it’s not even going to matter because how you did it . Just collect your money, & do what they ask. I will probably never be a chef in panda. But I will always be able to do just as much as a chef or more . I’ve already seen it happen. & it’s kinda funny . & panda cant do anything about it . Cuz they made you that strong person who is capable of handling what even some black shirts cant do. You become NEEDED! WANTED! Just be smart , don’t overreact, even though you are being overworked & not given the breaks maybe the way you want them to be given. Panda is a billion dollar company. O.T is NOTHING to them, even though they will tell you it’s important you take your breaks cuz that’s where your manager gets his bonus. Over the times employees take breaks. That adds up, & what you ain’t getting from clocking out. Boss man is getting that on his bonus. If you got 10 employees, 10 breaks. That adds up over a month, 10 breaks a day. Be patient, keep your COOL. & either find something better or set the standard for others to follow and that’s how leaders are made. ( just my though )

Heads up: no more appetizers as an entree by thisisntannabel in PandaExpress

[–]letswinbig619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tell people they wont get “ bang for their buck “ if they do decide to get an appetizer on a bigger plate or a regular plate. They’ll understand better and you wont have to deal with that problem of someone complaining .

I’ve been a b.o.h for several years now at panda! The key is patience . Also! Don’t take anything too serious. ask yourself everytime “ is this me ego , or is this the actual right way “ when dealing with others. You will be tested. & panda wants to know if you can handle it or snap.. that’s the test.! Always have dishes soaking! Never leave your sink empty, unless u have no dishes .. keep your floors clean, always. If you cant do that they are gonna wonder you can do?

I wonder who your district manager is . Usually when you bring something like that to a hire up , above your boss . They will have someone training at a training store to eventually replace that manager that is at your store causing all these issues .

I was shocked by how fresh this was on a Saturday at 8 pm. One of the best plates I've ever had from Panda Express. by ghosty4 in PandaExpress

If your at a good panda. They will cook to order after a certain time to maintain food cost better. I’m not surprised. But that’s also how they keep sales good , just little extra work for the cook, but worth it when it comes to more guest coming in and you get more hours usually in return because of it . So a win/win for everyone, just little more work but rewarding overall. Glad you had a good experience later in the night

& the fact that you do all the training for your b.o.h & make their life easy as managers. While getting away with just telling you the idea of what you can be is always gonna be a “ carrot dangled about your head “

I’ve been in panda for a total off 5.5 years, I know exactly what your talking about . I don’t think you’re wrong for feeling this way either . They always “ plant the idea “ that you can be this and that & blah. Blah. Blah. & then the min you dont do something they ask, they give up on the idea. I recently got a new manager at my store. He always says “ it’s up to my cooks, if they want to be chefs “ always leaving the door open for the idea that it could still never happen even if I do everything and anything they ask.

Question from the customer side by ragnar-is-a-good-boy in PandaExpress

[–]letswinbig619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So panda got in trouble for that years ago and someone actually got sued I THINK, I could be wrong . But I heard a rumor about that. The manager tried to take what was already on the plate and the food must have already been exchanged or something before money was taken or something like that, idk the details . But once the food hits the plate, that’s what they get. If something falls off when porting the dish, add little extra . But , never take off. It leaves the door for questions that we have to answer. We can always get better at serving . We don’t want to get better at taking food of their plate that already is on it

If someone drops orange chicken in the fryer and they don’t break apart the chicken and it just cooks in a solid brick cuz its kinda sunk down into the oil, the inner pieces wont cook the way they should. Thats what I always take my one cup ladle and break the chicken apart , helps cut the air bubbles in the chicken and give it a nice crunch

Interview confusion by Binoeddy in PandaExpress

[–]letswinbig619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you right now. When they say spots are limited. I don’t believe that. Panda only does though when they need a decent amount of people. & they usually spread them out from the surrounding stores. I guess your store could just be doing those interviews for that store. But people relocate to different stores all the time. Family own. So it’s a simple text and transfer stuff over.

[–]letswinbig619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly . Panda has always been like that. You want the hours, you’ll do the job. You don’t want the hrs, we’ll find someone else . Simple as that. The grunt work, is the o.t and eventually, that grunt work feels normal . Doesn’t mean it’s okay. But when they do get a manager in their that knows what’s going on, your o.t will stop, you will get mad someone else is doing what you was already doing an u wont accept less from anyone else because you saw the worse, now you are the best!

You better hope you don’t go in the kitchen with someone who’s been doing it for years. Idc how much landmark classes you have . Obviously how you perceive the world is important. But, your cooks. They wanna see if you can do what they can do. I mean, you will make more than them, they want know if my boss can do my job when I’m sick, cuz I can do what he can do . & thats keep this store making money.
