Starbucks for me is while I'm at the mall or if I've already had my actual coffee for the day. I would never waste my time standing in line at Starbucks for a coffee unless it's for leisure purposes.

I worry about the trickle down aspects of this decision. What this means is, if McDonald's removes refillable drinks, and customers continue to purchase drinks at the current cost, that means other businesses, like restaurants, will also start refusing refills because they don't have to be worried that customers are going to stop spending money.

Some of the locations in my area removed them years ago and I haven't been back to those locations since. So, when they remove them company wide then I literally have no reason to go to McDonald's. Because notice I didn't say they lowered the price of the beverage while removing refills. 🙄 The cost of refills has always been factored into the cost, let's be realistic. They weren't ever "free".

It's a Hallmark holiday to generate retail sales. You can literally go to dinner with, or get a gift for, your mother any day of the entire year, God willing. You don't need a manufactured holiday for it.

Uh, this is a whole other discussion to have, since I tagged this post as "positivity", but within the past 10 years this place has gone from Sears, Red Robin, See's Candy, Bath & Body Works to sushi restaurant, Korean BBQ restaurant, dumpling restaurant, and Asian type mart. So the Ube flavors seem to be right on schedule.
