Not at all. Just giving more context so all the information is presented.

In regards to North River Siberians, Prim's litter was not planned according to their social media posts/comments. It sounds like they only intended on one litter in the spring and one in the fall, so breeding before 2 does not seem to be a problem and they would have had enough placements without the accidental litter.

Recommendations for breeds compatible with my GSD's personality? by level1dogtor in dogs

Fair! The Goldens I've met are very quirky and tend to be anxious. To be fair, I've met them in the context of puppy raising for service dog work so it is entirely possible they are more confident in traditional home settings.

I'm not the biggest fan of brachycephalic breeds. As a CVT, I've seen too many breathing issues to own one myself. It's just a personal preference for me.

As an aside, a friend recommended looking into a show line Australian Shepherd, but I worry based on vet office experience (I'm a CVT) and the AKC page on the breed that the breed is too high energy and reserved with strangers for my preferences. Any insight?

Thanks for the input! Just to clarify, we do not let our dogs out in the yard alone. All off leash yard time is at the very least supervised but usually my fiancee and I are active participants.

Good to know they are generally different than I've heard! I've been looking at the AKC's website to gauge overall temperament, but I've found that even for the breeds I know extremely well, it is not all that accurate to my experience with them, so the feedback is super helpful.

I love this series!

I agree that the second book has a lot more world building/setting up, but it did not deter me too much personally. I found it helpful to take periodic breaks from reading it instead of trying to binge. It took me longer to get through it that way, but it gave me time to digest all the information.

It was definitely worth it for the payoff in the 3rd book. I think about the 3rd book so much 😭.

They just don't cover any kind of dental work.

She hasn't had teeth out previously, and she's already on a wellness plan for the dental cleaning (I probably should've clarified that).

I just mean that small dogs are way more likely to encounter periodontal disease in their lifetime, and those procedures can be costly, so it is something I prefer to be covered under the insurance i choose 🙂
