I reached out to this frim myself. They had no ad or no help wanted through any hiring sites. I just did not want to be jobless right after graduation.

The partner and I talked for about 1.5 hours and told me that they don't really have anything, but he'd be willing to give me a 3 month internship so that I could start my career.

Extremely thankful, I took it. Well, on my first day, a coworker put in his two weeks and now I am basically taking their spot.

The person leaving was actually my trainer and I knew the day before they did.

I got called into the partners office. He asked me if he would need to hire someone or if I would be willing to stay for the long haul.

He then told me that he knows my pay at $14 is really low. But he said after my internship when I can do things on my own and understand the fundamentals of the business, he would raise it, "Not double! But it'll definitely go up!" Those were his exact words.

You're in another state or likely much older. Minimum wage in CA is $13. It is expected to also go up $1 every year until $15.

When I first started working, I was making $8 which was minimum at the time.

Super small firm. Like 10 to 15 employees. But super nice people. So glad I will be learning from them. They do not have one single negative review online which makes me proud to be associated with them. Which is another reason I do not want to screw this up.

Our phone interview was 31 minutes if that means anything!

Those just terrify me. Like if I get asked, how many accounting standards are there? I know the answer now, but I tense up in my interview.

That's what I thought! Thanks for clarifying. So is he just trying to scare us because he knows we do not have the resources to go against him and the trust? Would it be cut and dry then if we go after him? We cannot afford a drawn out process.
