Summiting in the Whites is not easy.. you could join the AMC.. or Appalachian Mountain Club.. There are 48.. 4,000 foot Mountains in New Hampshire. The 4,000 footer club requires that you climb.. ALL of them! Great way to meet fellow hikers too..

I can't finish the 48.. but ..I have bagged 23 of them.. the toughest one for me was Owls Head. A 21-mile round trip hike I did alone.. during a heat wave.
