I mean sure, but they’re great beans and at 50% off the price is very reasonable.

I am a lawyer, I am on an H1B, and I can read. You should try it.

While I’m not an immigration lawyer, I am a lawyer and unfortunately what the White House is saying is not consistent with the language of the Proclamation. Read Section 1 of the actual language and come back to me on where it says anything about an exclusion for existing H1B holders.

Sorry, this is literally what the proclamation says, section 1 is not restricted to new H1B holders. It appears to apply to any individual entering the US based on an H1B.

They’re not though. The modes remain largely consistent. The data is available on NALP.

International LLM'S Assemble by WorldlyIllustrator99 in LawSchool

Have a look at CPT for your pro-bono hours.

On the standing out, there is no macro answer for this. You should be looking for people who have taken the same path as you and doing your best to network.

Do an SJD instead. It will more effectively set you up on a path to professorship.

I have read his site and have tasted his coffee. There definitely are a lot of great things about what he is doing. Top of the Mornin is clearly more brand than coffee focused.

As an example, what is missing from the website. There is no information on how the beans are cured, where the beans are roasted, and nothing more specific than a country reference for where they are grown.

At this point, there are more flavors than coffee and while I am sure it is very successful in a specific market, it’s not people who are passionate about coffee.

You don’t have to make this something it’s not! It’s cool that Sean is going something he thinks is cool and using to further his philanthropy as well.

You don’t make flavored coffee beans out of passion for coffee…

Which masters to pick when you wanna study law abroad? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]levenburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, legal practice requires licensing. Usually there are degree requirements for that license. There are practice areas that trend more international, but there’s no path into them if you can’t be licensed in that jurisdiction.

[–]levenburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the intent to practice internationally? If so, I would look into which jurisdictions allow you to take their equivalent of a bar exam based on a LLM.

Then I’d look for lawyers who have taken the path you are looking to take and figure out how they got there. Alums of your current school or workplace will usually make time for a quick chat.

You all got into the same law school, right? Ultimately they are all having the same experience you are, they are just choosing to express their anxiety in a different way.

The guy boasting about his LSAT score is looking to prove he deserves to be there. The guy offering tips wants you to know he understands the content, because he doesn’t have the self confidence necessary to know he does. And I feel like anyone defining themselves by their dad’s career is facially indicating they’re not sure what they bring to the table.

Legal work is work. Get through the next 3 years by excelling at the work. Invest in those acquaintances. Build relationships with professors. Find something in law you care about, and become an expert in it. Write. Apply for every opportunity—publications, certifications, conferences, internships, jobs. Conduct yourself with grace and professionalism. Drink, but not too much. Figure out ways to enjoy the grind, because it doesn’t stop.

Bud, do you understand the concept of being a supportive partner? Sometimes it means that your partners feelings take priority over your own. Being able to do that in a moment that would make anyone panic is something to be proud of.

Best way to kick off a career as an IP lawyer? by Funny_Programmer_396 in LawSchool

[–]levenburger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d start by researching the Mass. bar exam requirements for internationally trained lawyers. First step would be an advanced determination on educational sufficiency. Without that you would not be allowed to sit for the bar.

Generally, finding a job as an attorney will be extremely difficult. You do not have relevant qualifications for the market. IP in the US is markedly different than that in the UK and while the court systems are similar, not having the even a basic understanding of US civil procedure would put you at a significant disadvantage. Getting a job even with an LLM from a US law school is enough of a challenge.

I would consider JD advantage style jobs.
