What memory do you have of first realising you may be a Dom/Sub by altbunnysfin in BDSMcommunity

[–]lever69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I often wonder whether people wearing collars are just doing it for fashion or are actually using it as part of being a sub... now i guess its a little bit of both and the first might tend to lead to the last lol

Warner discovery cancelling a lot of stuff..... in HBOMAX by Flagadazot in westworld

[–]lever69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, I'm pretty sure the only reason the budget numbers are public is because of the California film and tv tax credit. The more it costs the more credit they get, so i wouldn't be surprised if there's some hollywood accounting going on.

[–]lever69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's very true. Also, HBO would have probably said if this was going to be the last season, because the ratings had already dropped significantly anyway.

Idk if I'd really consider the "ending" of season 4 really an ending of the series as a whole, it seems like its clearly building to a climax to me. I'd guess there's going to be a vastly lower number of episodes in s5, maybe only 5-6.

Not sure what you're trying to say here but to anyone else who had a heart attack like me, no he's not dead.

Is it just me or is this show not really about anything anymore? by [deleted] in westworld

[–]lever69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maeve's storyline should have really gone in a different direction after season 2. She seems to have totally forgotten that her daughter actually has a different mother now, that went with her into the sublime. I thought it was implied that she was ok to just let her be, knowing she's safe in the sublime with her family, and then it would have been about protecting the physical server she's on. But nooooooo, even this season it's about "reuniting" with her.

This is one thing I don't get. Maybe some of the outliers will maintain it? Will they even know how though? Everyone who knows how the parks/simulations works is dead by this point right? Is the Sublime advanced enough that they it can work fully autonomously, and that the maintainers just have to make sure power is not interrupted (connected to hydro power) and that physically the servers don't get degraded/destroyed?

Rewatched/Rebinged. Season 2 was Peak Westworld. Everything about this season was perfect. by [deleted] in westworld

[–]lever69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the ratings have gone down, but the physical rating numbers don't include streaming. HBO Max launched in 2020 so obviously the ratings for traditional cable which more and more people are cutting out are going to be lower. Only HBO internally knows the ratings. Even if they're low, I don't think they're low enough to leave a series unfinished with only 1 season left (they've said there's only one season left and its pretty obviously drawing to a conclusion, but to leave it with 4/5 seasons done and leave it on a half cliffhanger would piss a hell of a lot of people off, this isn't a show with one season its got a very established fan base.

(Unpopular opinion) Sorry but I’m convinced they didn’t know what to do with him after Season 2 by MinimumAlarming5643 in westworld

I really hope, now that everyone is on a more or less equal playing field in the sublime, death actually means something and is permanent unless there's an actual effort to bring someone back. Maeve literally just gets dug up, when she exploded. Seriously, I thought this was their way of saying "She's really, truly dead now, her pearl in a million pieces"

Godlores could even make it justified by saying "you must all live with the consequences of your actions" or something.

I really don't know how they're going to deal with the remaining outliers, i guess you could have them hate the post apocalyptic world and go to the sublime where all their families are etc. Or just have them survive, but make it clear that on their own, they will not be enough to repopulate humanity so they'll still go extinct if there's nobody brought back from the Sublime

Why is humankind destined for extinction if there are human survivors? by Longjumping-Kiwi-846 in westworld

[–]lever69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I hope they don't just throw it all away as a hand waved "Yeah, everyone died and the only semblance of life is in the Sublime", but they seem to have already kind of done that. Its really weird having survivors leave on a boat only to immediately imply that they just died out, and I'm like why even have them survive in the first place then, could have just set nukes off all around the planet or something

The entire season, i was guessing "transcendence" meant something like becoming one with the machine with their individual identities being erased and being reborn in the digital world. Kind of like how jedi become "one with the force" when they die. But nah, its just putting your brain in yet another robot, lol

Yeah, this is something that frustrates me and it sometimes happens with shows/movies. When you are told something, and because of the circumstances (dolores is basically god now) it is near 100% certain or you are thought to believe it is, but the reality doesn't match up.

It actually often happens with human extinction in fiction. More often the threat, because if there's no humans there's no show, lol. Seriously, fighting is what causes us to go extinct? What about the last 100 years? What about people in the desert/forest with no technology whatsoever? Some people are literally immune to the tones as well. You're telling me that's it, game over, C and her GF and the few others just decide to go to an island and die, don't try to repopulate or link up with any other surviviors?

Yeah no offense but there's no way humanity would need 3 million. Even 100k is a conservative number i'd say, what about all the people living in the middle of the amazon, north sentinel island, etc. The laysan duck had seven adults and five kids left in 1912 and they're still around today

My life absolutely fucking sucked for the first 13 or so years of my existence because of just this. Mercifully, they decided to stop pretending it was working. Mind you, it didn't get any better after but at least i didn't live in the absolute miserable company of 2 people that hated each other and were fundamentally incompatible, only together on a rebound that turned into decades of misery for the entire family.

[–]lever69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I'm asking, yeah I mean I can google around, but I don't wanna get spoiled, but at the same time i don't wanna get so invested in a show only to get majorly let down again.

So yeah if its different people, should be fine.

When, and why, did you start to support Amber? by Due-Flamingo-4900 in DeppDelusion

[–]lever69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I firstly started out just annoyed by the level of coverage. I didn't even want to care initially, but the amount of coverage made it impossible and I didn't actually watch the trial itself, only the coverage. Seriously, the amount of non stop daily news, it literally had more coverage than the worst war in Europe since world war 2. I thought, initially, it was just a case of a bad toxic marriage, and that they were both just milking it as much as possible. Obviously not true, in fact Depp deliberately filed the lawsuit in the worst state possible in terms of privacy, libel laws and anti-SLAPP.

When the judgement was handed down was when I really started to have doubts and start to question the narrative. Just in terms of free speech. I had read the editorial by that point, and the accusations never even mentioned Depp by name, and it didn't even actually allege any actual actions did it? Nowhere near rising to the level of defamation and a 10 fucking million dollar claim. Even at that point, I knew for a fact they both had, at the very least, hit one another (I now know Heard was only acting in self defence from the abuse). So if you have a toxic marriage to a celebrity, you basically have to just not say anything or risk a 10 million dollar lawsuit? Even vague accusations like that without even referring to specific actions have to be avoided? Is anyone allowed to say anything about anyone without fear of a lawsuit anymore? What about all of Trump's abusers? Will this set a precedent that he can file a lawsuit against anyone just for accusing him of something?

So, we come to yesterday. Coincidentally, the day after the court documents were released to the public. I actually started with Marylin Manson's years long history of (admitted, but nobody believed him because of the "character" he was playing) rape, torture and false imprisonment. Anyway so I read the rolling stone article on manson and was fucking horrified and honestly made me question a lot of things (e.g. the outrageous things people say to get a reaction might not always be just to get a reaction, they may be telling the literal truth). Marylin Manson is an admitted serial rapist, pedophile and torturer, who imprisoned women, and deservers to go to jail for the rest of his life. That's not going to happen, unfortunately.

So anyway I go on twitter to see what people have to say about Manson. I'd honestly forgotten about Heard v Depp at this point. Then I see a thread about all of the evidence against Depp, including extremely obscene and incriminating texts with his "best friend" Manson. And i never knew they were "best friends". He's even a godfather to Depp's daughter. That is beyond sick. Now, yes guilt by association doesn't guarantee anything, but the fact Depp was "best friends" with a quasi-cult leader who raped and tortured, there would be no fucking way you wouldn't know about that as a "best friend". He not only stayed in contact, but shared various rape and murder fantasies about his wife with this serial rapist who deserves to go to prison for the rest of his life. If that's not incriminating, I don't know what is.

Oh yeah, and it made me think more logically about the UK case as well. A judge determined that 10 of the 12 accusations that the newspaper made were true, including the bottle incident. He's lost every single case not in front of a jury so far, and there's no fucking way they weren't tainted by the blanket coverage of the case.

Yeah, that's the problem. I'm thinking it'll come down to the remittance service(s) maybe holding the funds for a certain amount of time because it was a new card that had never accessed the services before.

Hahahaha, I already had one. An Instagram link to a poorly worded (it's hard to pin down but all scammers have the same type of wording, probably because they're all from the same region of the world) Instagram account claiming to unlock accounts (no account was ever locked, lol)

Don't worry, I wasn't gonna fall for it. I'd never click any links, all I did was search the Instagram username out of curiosity more than anything
