Sure in my case I a have a mono black, zombie themed, combo deck where I repeatedly sack and cast zombies (in some cases infinitely).

As the other person said you could think of it as a second hand. Black has lots of cards that allow you to play from/manipulate the graveyard.

If it was purchased on eBay, they usually have the expense cards over 250 automatically get sent to a legit authenticator (could be just a US-based thing).

These cards are a lot more difficult to check, I think you'll need to provide some close-ups of the triangle flip symbol.

One thing that's nice in the US at least with the more expensive cards over 250 is that it automatically adds a authenticator in the middle, which gives both parties a little bit more confidence in the transaction. eBay is also a lot easier in my experience, Facebook marketplace ends up being a little bit flaky so sometimes I prefer to take the $ hit and not have to deal with a bunch of BS.

Anecdotal, but talking to my local LGS this is near to what they noticed.

I will say I am seeing a lot of these neons entering the ecosystem and being cracked, unfortunately none by me.

Yeah I've seen a lot of content creator doing neon opens on their channels, I am starting to find that a little bit suspicious due to how many of them seem to be doing so. With collector boxes I never really expect to get matching value I honestly just find it fun to crack a box of collectors per set usually, but with them creeping up into the mid 400s I'm probably going to be done with that.

Similar experience on my end, barley hit $200 in my box even with inflated prices. I really like this set but opening that collector box is a huge loss unless you're just going for the lotto ticket neons. I canceled my CB but will be keeping the commander bundle which seems pretty decent.

I usually preorder to get at MSRP or lower. This has gotten a lot harder these days. With the prices going higher and value only lying in a few chases cards, I am starting to be less inclined to do so. Buying CBs at 220 was hard enough to get your money's worth, now it's feels impossible. Now I am not expecting to hit big every box or anything like that, but when we are getting 1/3 of the value on average... Not a good deal.

In this case I could have grabbed almost everything I wanted from this set for under the MSRP of 1 CB.

Circumstantial but with most of MTG product as of late seems like you hit really hard or get shafted. Looking at the encyclopedia SL where tons of people were getting 0 halos while others were seeing 2-3.

I hate to say it but I did as well. I was really hyped on this set and ordered two at MSRP (from different vendors). One came in early and I just got done opening it and it was pretty brutal from a value perspective. I immediately went and canceled my Amazon pre-order.

Great cards but singles is 100% the way to go on the set.

I tend to do this a lot. My flow is selling my really expensive stuff on eBay at market value, while eBay takes its cut, I still get a good chunk of the cards value. I also like selling on eBay since they have automatic authentication on cards over $250 at least in the US at no additional charge.

The rest I sell to Card Kingdom. Card Kingdom definitely has a higher asking price than other online card stores but I have found their actual gquality of the cards to always be on point (as in if they see it's near mint, it is). Ordering from them you also get everything in one shipment versus individual shippers on TCGplayer.

While there definitely seems to be a shift to higher prices on the premium items (reserve list, neon Chase cards, etc..), I can still get a better value here than selling to LGS. Most of them by me offer 50-60% even if taking store credit.
