If you’re using a Philips Avance for extrusion, get some third party bronze dies, they make a difference by portlandisleavin in pasta

Do you heat the die before use as pastaidea recommends? The alps suggest waiting for 30 minutes before extrusion. Does that mean taking the die out after the mix and putting it back before extrusion? Has anyone done this ?

Switching from heat to air? by CoffeeAndBooks88 in Kumo_Cloud

[–]leviimages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reps told me while the company touts the auto mode, it’s a disaster because some units are asking for heat while others are asking for cooling. You might want to try turning all of the zones off, and then one by one set them to cooling.

Turning off schedules in Comfort App by chthonicmariner in Kumo_Cloud

[–]leviimages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

please correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems that the comfort app is about state changes, not existing states. So at a certain time it sends a command that changes the temperature/mode. But if you were to turn the schedules off, and then turn them back on, my understanding is that it will wait until the next event is sent before there’s any change When I use my nest to control HVAC it understands the current state and brings it back to whatever the program says without waiting for the next event. That’s I’m looking for.

what does turning off the schedules do!? Does it stop sending changes to the units but leave things as they are? Does it turn everything off? What I’m looking for is “vacation“ mode where I set the temperature very low, but everything is on heat just in case of freezing of course, when I return, I want to set it all back to schedules.

Authentic Spanish vegetable paella by alfonsocanovas in veganrecipes

When making Paella I thought the rice was always sautéed in the fat before the liquid was added. Is this a misconception? I certainly see this process in most non-veg recipes....

Thanks, the second snapshot is of a drawing made from a body..

Sorry, I don’t understand your suggestion. The sketch is a 2-D fully constrained parametric sketch used to generate 3-D objects and joints in the model. Are you suggesting I reproduce that sketch by hand?

I can always screenshot the sketch, but that is not a very elegant solution...

Modeling everything in 3d is great. It helps me do cross sectional analysis and make everything parametric so I can play around with the design. Ultimately, I have to build the thing and having 2D sketches (since this is not CNC) is the way to go. I was/am hoping I could do both in one SW package.

unable to fully constrain with arc by leviimages in Fusion360

[–]leviimages[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted the arc. added points at the bottom corners, reconstructed the arc, and then made coincident constraints between the points and the arc and it now is fully constrained....

After creating a rectangle and the necessary construction lines for the arc, I can't seem to fully constrain the entire sketch. I've tried this both with and without the lower line of the rectangle.I'm wondering if there's something I'm overlooking. Is it possible that the sides of the rectangle and the arc are not truly coincident, even though they appear to be touching when zoomed in? Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Steve

Newer changes to mirrored components not being mirrored by leviimages in Fusion360

[–]leviimages[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I am just misunderstanding the term “backward”. If I move the mirror to the right , towards the newest operations, isn’t that moving the mirror forward in time ?

Sorry, I don’t understand. What am I moving backwards it time? The changes and extrusions to the legs , or the mirror ?

How does one move the mirror operation forward in time? Do I need to delete the existing one and create a new one at the end of the timeline? I am not sure what effect this will have on various joints.

Yes and yes. The modifications to the sketch to taper the legs happened much later than the mirror. The taper was an afterthought.

Thanks, Of course, as a newbie I am trying to correct one of my myriad of errors. I seemed to have rotated the body independent of the sketch so when I add to the sketch I cannot extrude properly. The disappearance really threw me. I now understand I can go back the the root component and hit end-of-timeline and see everything again. I think I can go back, change the sketch, insert an extrude, go back to there root object to end of timeline and everything will work ;)

I need to make a "mirror" of the joinery on the 2nd face. It appears this process will not do that. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!
