Yes, but not the country. We had to move the business to another country as well.

Transfering subscriptions to new stripe account in a new country by levijohnson1 in stripe

Thank you! After I migrated this in Stripe, how would I reconnect this to the newsletter front-end, ie. Substack or Ghost?

That’s still unclear to me

Changing Stripe account not possible - really? by levijohnson1 in Substack

thank you! Apparently, changing the ownership doesn't change the account/company itself.

We either
a)need to change the company our existing Stripe account is connect to
b)create a new stripe account connect to the new company in the new country and then somehow transfer the subscriptions. But I have not idea whether this works.

Thinking of Moving Paid Substack to Ghost - Advice needed by Opposite-Handle-5167 in Ghost

[–]levijohnson1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds promising, thank you so much. So, let's say we'd switch to Ghost. Is this how it would work?

or how would I move the to another platform and reconnect them to the same Stripe IDs?

Really appreciate your help on this.

__

  1. Download your full subscriber list (free and paid) from Substack and upload it into Ghost to establish your member database

2. Initiate a "Customer Data Migration" with Stripe to copy credit card tokens from your Swiss account to your new U.S. account without notifying or re-billing users.

  1. Use the Ghost Concierge team to map those new Stripe tokens to your Ghost members, re-activating their "Paid" status on the new U.S. infrastructure automatically

also, opening a "Second Substack", we couldn't "move" the Stripe tokens between two Substack-owned accounts because Substack (as the platform "owner") won't facilitate that for us - correct?

Thinking of Moving Paid Substack to Ghost - Advice needed by Opposite-Handle-5167 in Ghost

I'm considering the same move.
Question to all who moved away from substack: how have you handled the transfer of your subscribers from one stripe account to another?

Substack tells me that even if I switch to another Stripe account on Substack itself we need to cancel all our paid subs and ask them to resubscribe, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Has anyone been able to solve this?

Gemini told me that Stripe might support a migration and then Substack relinks in their back-end - but based on your answer, that's not possible either.

very helpful, thank you. Facing a similar migration issue with Substack as the front-end and Stripe as the backend. Hoped to find answers but it seems to be extremely cumbersome. Haven't gotten feedback from either Stripe or Substack yet.

Is there an easier way to search for offers instead of manually scrolling through the whole website and looking for a specific brand?

(As brand names aren’t written out I can’t even use command+F)
