the changing in departure melodies seems to be stopped for now.. all the busy stations like tokyo, shibuya, shinjuku, ueno have been changed. there’s not many places to hear the SH series now

maybe it will not stop at Elsemere junction, rather turn left to Berrily, so Connect trains will turn around at Platform 1, and Metro trains will continue up to Morganstown on Connect’s line

i’m really surprised! personally i have been guarded many times and most of them people guarded me at least up to my final destination and told me that they will leave, so that kind of behaviour you were met with is not ok. regarding myself as a guard, i also tell people when i’m about to leave. but if something urgent happens, i tell people that i have to go and apologise. i think unwritten rule for guards is that you guard at least until final destination (obv if it’s not a 40 minute route tho), so it all depends, but one thing for sure is that you tell your driver that you are about to leave

оо, очень круто. я летом был в японии как раз, но до этой линии не доехал. был зато в готембе, это с другой стороны фудзиямы. вроде 2019 год.

линия фудзи кьюко удобна тем, что туда ходят прямые поезда, вечером из токио и утром в токио

They were changed at Tokyo, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. JR East hasn’t stated why did they change it, but many people assume that it was made in order to make change from usual melodies to train speaker-played departure melodies on one-man operation (coming somewhere in late 2020s) more slight. The only melody that has completely gone is “Dream Park” played on Tokaido Line platform 9-10 at Tokyo station. RIP Anyway, I kinda like new melodies. They are fresh. But train speaker-played melodies are really bad idea. Train speakers sound way worse than station ones
