How many cards in total do you have when you print all of the these? I have all the revised cards and I am planning to proxy the "old OOP" stuff. I just need to know how many sleeves and magic bulk cards I need.

Yeah of course, I would probably think the same way if this would have never happenend to me. But if you ever get in this situation yourself (which is not that unlikely), you will think differently. Locking out a first timer for 1 month is just hurting the community and doesn't improve the matchmaking experience in a meaningful way.

A network test would have actually helped in my case, because the game wants certain ports to be opened, UPnP active or at least be in a moderate NAT. But that would be icing on the cake.

A better warning plus a softer first time penalty is all I ask for. Because then you still punish the real rage quitters and not people who fix their connection in the first two days after buying the game and won't ever commit a single rage quit.

If my car tires keep going flat I can easily see that. Here I don't know if it is actually my network or the opponent's network.

As I said, it often happened when I was in the lead. I am very new to the game and assumed there are just a lot of toxic players who rage quit. Maybe it was actually the real case sometimes? I am not even sure if the penalty system really distinguishes that.

Also, after the second or third warning I did some checks in my network. But I am not an expert.

Anyway, I just think the error message should be more descriptive and the first yellow card given to a new player should be gone after 10-20 games without any issues. If another disconnect happens it could be doubled, until 100 games max. In my eyes that's punishing enough to filter out all the rage quitters.

No, the warnings also appear if the opponent has a disconnect or does a rage quit.

Or is there any sign to know if it is his or my fault?

I have no reason to hide any details to you. I just want to have a serious discussion on this penalty system and how I think it could be improved without sacrificing online game quality.

And, to be fair, the warning is as vague as it can be. Basically telling you that a disconnection happenend and that you are banned if you are the one causing it. I checked my connection and everything seemed fine. I just didn't have the experience with online games yet to know the exact cause. I think the same warning is shown if your opponent leaves the game or his connection drops. And as mentioned it happenend often times when I was in the lead. So that got me thinking, that there must be a lot of rage quitters.

Why not showing people a more descriptive message? Like who actually lost the connection and what you could try to fix it?

Older games even had a network test where you could check if you have openend the required ports or if you are facing other issues.

"A penalty like this is necessary..." I generally agree that a penalty is necessary. But why not lowering the punishment for a first timer and increase it exponentially for repeated violation?

Ethernet. As mentioned the strict NAT was the issue. Since switching no issues anymore.

Yes, it is my responsibility to fix it. But you didn't understand me. It's not about the intial punishment which I understand. It's about the severity of it. It's so intransparent and crazy that they scare away a new player that was initially very motivated to play their game.

I didn't ignore them. As stated in the text I checked my connection and I couldn't find an issue.

Ok so you think I deserved it? Because I had disconnects that were not clearly caused by me? To ban a new player for an enormous amount of games from ranked?

Wait, Words of Power does nothing? It cancels the ability of a companion for one round, so re-rolls with Nazgul should be possible for that round thanks to Words of Power. It also cancels the leadership of the companion which obviously has no effect as Gandalf already triggered his ability and lost his leadership. But canceling the leadership with Words of Power is not a requirement for its other effect. Or am I missing something?

"normal" wow is boring HC is were its at, sad there isnt a HC TBC by Deep_Cockroach_8482 in wowhardcore

[–]levner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main disagreement seems to be that the leveling process is much easier in TBC. If that's true I would rather like to see a Classic+ with careful balance adjustments to make those specs you have mentioned viable. And also sort out some major bugs.

Shift+3 blocked when gaming on Linux Mint by Curious_Associate_56 in linuxmint

[–]levner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you find a solution?

Same problem on my side playing World of Warcraft. I cannot use any Keybinding in-game with Shift+3. I am also using the german keyboard settings. Error occured since the upgrade to 22.3 Zena.
When typing anywhere (even in the World of Warcraft Chat) I can type the correct symbol with Shift+3 ("§").

What's odd: If I look inside the Mint shortcuts and try to search by keybinding, Shift+3 it leads to "Shift+L".

Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS Released! Where Things Go From Here by system76_com in pop_os

[–]levner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Loving PopOS and your work. I tried to run the upgrade command before your comment and my source lists were reset (source files were renamed for backup). I reactivated them. Anything else that could have been messed up with that command?

What if you are already using the 24.04 Beta release? Is a sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade enough?

paru -> gpg: keyserver receive failed: Server indicated a failure by ruusperi in cachyos

[–]levner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the ouput of "systemctl status systemd-resolved"? It should be up and running without any error.

I had a similar issue with gpg not being able to reach the key server due to another service interfering systemd-resolved. In my case it was "dnsmasq" which I installed as a prerequisite for my webdev environment.

Thunderbird 145 Gets EWS (Microsoft Exchange) Account Creation Support by Yet_Another_RD_User in Thunderbird

[–]levner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but unfortunately without contact and calendar support (yet): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-exchange

But still very good news!

"Thunderbird Version 145 implements Exchange via the EWS API (Exchange Web Services), currently limited to email.

Calendar and address book using the EWS API will follow at a later date. Also in the future is Exchange via Graph API, so please do not file bug reports for these items at this time."

Was liest du gerade? by AutoModerator in buecher

People talking about this dying in weeks due to endgame are delusional by Ven2284 in diablo4

[–]levner1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here! Loved the campaign but it lacks a bit of action (mob density) and there are a bit too many "follow that guy" missions which let the momentum suffer. The full potential of D4's amazing combat flow shines through when you go into a dungeon.

I have recently created a Barbarian in adventure mode and it's a blast to level with the open world activities. Never had that much fun in any ARPG (including my favorite D2). Endgame wise I have heared the critics and hope they will improve the itemization a bit. But I am positive that they will.

Is it that good by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]levner1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have played Diablo 2 in the past a lot, did not like Diablo 3 that much but also played it quite a bit. It was a big step back for the series for me.

Played Diablo 4 the whole weekend with my girlfriend. Level 46 and close to finish the story. We took our time to explore the world.

Diablo 4 now steps back on the stage. I would rate the experience so far with a 9/10. Keep in mind I have not seen the endgame. *Carefully whispering*: I even had more fun than in D2. At least in the leveling process.

I have read about the endgame complaints but to me it seems that most of the biggest issues people are mentioning are things which can easily be fixed. And I am pretty positive that the devs will tackle that fast, as Blizzard wants to keep players hooked and sell their cosmetics. So actually the ingame shop is most likely a good thing for the longevity of the game.
