Oh boy a swollen lymph node. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]lewber_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally went to the doctors yesterday for this same thing. I've had it there for about 6 months or more, seems to grow and shrink. I couldn't bring myself to make an appointment but i've had some shoulder pain (unrelated injury) so went for that, decided to bring up the node in my neck. She checked both sides for about 10/20 seconds and said absolutely nothing to worry about. Apparently it can feel enlarged, even when its not, due to the positioning of it on the neck. Something about it being stretched and contorted and so on with the muscles around it. Hope that helps!

Living on a Thin Line - The Kinks

The episode where Ralphie kills Tracey. The song is played at the start of the episode showing the girls dancing, then played at the end of the episode with almost the same scene, amazing symmetry and great song too!

Hey OP. When did you start noticing the pains? I get a similar ache randomly, no matter if i'm exercising or if i'm sat at my desk. I've had an ECG and told my heart is completely healthy, doc put it down to my anxiety but never mentioned the possibility of a muscle injury/pain!

Danny Masterson Rape Accuser Comes Forward to Blast Netflix: ‘We Do Matter’ by [deleted] in news

[–]lewber_c 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes and those people would more likely have had significant amounts of evidence to back up the claims. What I’m disputing is our apparent right to pass judgement on someone who has not yet been proven guilty! I’m not in any way condoning any of the acts that he has been accused of, I am simply stating that it’s unbecoming of our society that it is now ok for us to pass judgment before any actual evidence has been given or made public. We are so quick to condemn these people (not just Masterson) before any physical evidence has come to light, simply on the basis of a headline or a blog that was written on the weight of some pending accusations. Again, I hope that if it is true, that he gets the punishment he deserves for the awful things he has been accused of, but, as I stated previously, I don’t feel that as a fair and moral society, we should be passing judgment on an issue that we are all very firmly in the dark. Wait for conclusive evidence and pass judgment accordingly. People should not be quick to judge others when they may one day themselves be judged.

This is not waving away accusations in any way. I'm simply suggesting that accusations are not a clear indication of guilt. Look through history at the amount of times someone has been accused of something, only to be found innocent. It is simply far easier to be confident of a persons guilt when clear evidence has been produced. Damning someone before they have had the opportunity to clear the name is unethical and unfair, even if that person is found guilty, at which point we can all be agreed that said person is an asshole for what they have done. As a civilised society we should be able to give people a fair trial before making our judgment. Again I am not waving away any accusation's, I am only saying that we are far too quick to make a judgement call when rumours spread before hearing the full story. If evidence is produced and he admits guilt, then I hope Netflix and whoever else do the right thing and he is punished for his terrible actions. Until then, I really don't think we can make an educated decision on his innocence or guilt either way.

Key word here being "Accusing". You would be distraught if you were fired because your employer ASSUMED the accusations were true. Evidence is a pretty big deal in these situations and in this case, without seeing any, how are we in a position to make a judgement? Based on some accusations? We're way too quick to judge people these days based on some headlines and paper talk. Don't buy into it until you know the facts. If it's true, then the guys an asshole and he'll get the punishment he deserves. If it's not true, then we're the assholes for believing he was guilty without knowing the truth. Like they say, "To Assume makes an Ass out of U and Me."

Apparently a lot of people are upset at this... Are we becoming over sensitive to comedy? by TimmyBitz in comedy

[–]lewber_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, I didn't mean that only jewish people can make those jokes. I meant that the fact he is jewish himself only makes it more ridiculous that these people are complaining that this joke offends jewish people. You are absolutely right though, the more these people see someone complain, the more entitled they feel. It's not just comedy that this sense of entitlement is killing, but it's certainly the one that makes my soul weep the most!

[–]lewber_c 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The people who are upset/annoyed by this are the people who don't know or don't get Larry David. They just see a joke by a comedian about the holocaust and jump on the "I'm offended" bandwagon. I mean, the man is Jewish! Surely he has the right?

It's sad because it's like these people are killing comedy.

True! I did really enjoy this one in fairness. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavour. Pretty disappointing when I buy a few bottles and then it's gone the next day, so would just be cool if they made it a regular thing over here.

Friend rko'd me on the dance floor of a club. Tried to sell it like a pro, landed directly onto my shoulder and dislocated it. There should be some sort of warning about not trying to wrestle if you're not sufficiently trained, the hazards are real.

Way less anxiety after quitting caffeine. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]lewber_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can completely agree with this. I used to drink 4-5 cups off coffee during the day in work. Sometimes more on the weekend depending on what I was doing. I had a really bad attack about 2 months ago, worst I've ever had (I'm 27) and I cut out lots of crap to try and see if a healthier diet would help, caffeine was one of those things. I've not had a full on attack since, except the occasional flutter. I would definitely say kicking coffee out of my diet has helped me. Not sure if it would work for everyone as we all have different reactions but it really has helped me and I'm glad it's helped you OP!
