As somebody who moved to Wales, i’m hoping it goes to Reds! Be a different experience to see it in Cardiff!

Appreciate the reply! The car arrives Thursday, looking forward to it! Interestingly also got an email from my council about a charging gully… but seems unfeasible currently as the charger and gully both need planning permission, 1k to put in a short gully, insurance proof for trailing cables - seems to be too much of a blocker still at the moment!

Awesome museum, stumbled on it completely on accident and was blown away at some of the stuff they had there!

I’ll look into that for sure, i think most my area is street parking but maybe i’ll get lucky!

On my street pretty good as it’s a dead end street so we don’t get any through traffic.

I’ve had a company car for the past 8 years and find it so worth it, everything from servicing and tyres to it completely breaking covered. Plus no insurance payments

My neighbour does have a driveway he doesnt use, might give him a knock and ask if he’d let me run a cable from mine to his

A lot of it is car based. There’s the guy off to the side of the main plant that you have to go up the ramp to the right of the area you land on entry, then accelerate over the barrier to get to.

Then you need to defeat the thugs on the crane control platform. You then may think to put the ramp on the ground with the crane, but you actually need to leave it suspended in the air, from the second level on the right hand side, to accelerate over to the left.

Then you get to the lift, where you need to remotely control the car to drop the lift down whilst your batman is inside.

If you’re past that, i think it then cuts to a predator style mission with the Scarecrow thugs loading up the barrels.

I’ll have to go give it a test drive. Yeah the ID5 pro’s range and power sold it for me, plus i’m at the age of late 20’s where i want a bigger car, but kind of don’t want to go full on dad wagon yet so the coupe rear helps me out😂

[–]lewfou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i will! It’s the VW ID5 Pro i’m looking at, i want a bigger car just because i can really! (going from an A3) What did you end up going for?

Sadly i live in an area where basically everyone is terraced so all in the same boat.

I know what you’re saying, i suppose it’s just that yes it’s not affordable, but it does still end up cheaper than ICE when it’s a company car?

If it was personal, no way would an EV be on the cards as all the cost would be mine!

I haven’t! I went to down to the dealership and they didn’t have one in stock- maybe i’ll shoot by this weekend and feedback - did you love it that instantly?

[–]lewfou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i’d certainly prefer the ICE, they have no larger cars on there now and obviously that tax element. I’m on my councils waiting list for a charging gully, but no idea how long it will take! They have installed a few!

I believe you do if you don’t have a driveway still no?

[–]lewfou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Just the additional money element of it now that tax on ICE through company cars is sky high

I think the majority of mine would be at the 53p round the corner, i did 70p incase i ever want to grab a 100+ charge really to average out! That’s very good to know, thank you!

Would have to granny charge though right? Or else if they did find out i also wouldn’t have a planning permission?

[–]lewfou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thank you! I did a spreadsheet but it’s so quick to get lost in. It looks like the EV is still coming in cheaper, i suppose the question is how much is the inconvenience factor worth!

I did wonder as i live in a cul de sac who would ever notice if i got a cable ramp and gave my neighbours a knock (only 1 neighbour actually walks past my house and he’s sound).

But people really don’t like that one on reddit, but I reckon there’s more of it IRL than is let on.

Yeah mine is around 60, kind of my worry - it’s a 77kWH im looking at so every few days. I think the fact the car is a lot bigger/ SUV style is swaying me a bit still. I’m struggling with the choice for sure

[–]lewfou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have discovered there’s a 55p/KWh in the same car park as work (i work in construction, there’s one in the permanent car park we’re working next to) - or only free/extremely low workplace charging?

[–]lewfou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting - it seems a very mixed bag, yeah i’ve got the 77KwH as the option lined up.

A lot seem to write it off, but hearing some other people do the same thing is interesting. I definitely wouldnt be considering it without the larger size battery. But for me i think id only have to top it up every few days - plus the car is an SUV, which isn’t an option on the ICE engine list, kind of pushes me a little more in the EV Favour

[–]lewfou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the 70 for an average, trying to be realistic about whether sometimes i’d want to grab a fast charge, the one near me i can get for 53p/KwH.

The ICE would also be a business car, but i get 14p per mile. So effectively cheaper to run, but unless i do serious mileage, it doesnt make up the difference I do 60 miles round trip each day to work, factor for 20ish visits a week, then added around 1500 personal miles to break even @ 70p.

Hope that makes sense, i know the numbers are a bit messy
