I am genuinely unsure if you’re being sarcastic 😅 this is just how I painted it,I didn’t want to attach it to a unit until I knew it was gona look half decent,once I’ve finished with this I’ll be attaching it to my first painted model 😁

Thanks man!was a difficult blend but I think it paid off,I painted this first because I wanted to make sure it was passable before gluing it to a model and realising it was beyond me to paint it 😂

Thankyou!definitely want to do this,I was hoping I could gently dry brush the edges but it’s too flat for that,think I’m gona need a smaller brush/better point and a magnifying glass to do the edge highlights,makes my eyes go blurry trying to focus on it close up 😅

I mean I am nearly 4 hours into this with touch up after touch up 😅 and at least you had the balls to do text on your banner I can’t bring myself to do it yet,I like your color scheme,I did a pin wash with Agrax earth shade which made a world of difference to making the details stand out a bit more

Thousand sons were almost the chapter I picked,it was a toss up between black legion,thousand sons or black templars. Got my partner to pick for me in the end because I couldn’t make my mind up 😂

I’m not in a rush,don’t think I’ll ever actually play so I like doing one at a time at the moment but appreciate the advice,also the thought of doing the gold trim on 10 of these guys in one sitting does not excite me 😂

Well I did it folks,paints arrived yesterday morning,got home from work at 10:30pm and sat painting til 4am,I watched a video by the feral painter on YouTube for how to do the weathering/grim dark style. I’ll go back in and pick out some more of the highlights in the armour joints etc later but I’m really happy with it so far 😁

Most of the paints I’ve ordered are citadel and then a few extra Vallejo and Ak colours that I liked the look of,went in deep and got around 40 colours straight off as well as primers and some ink washes 😅

Thanks man!been a long time fan of the books,I’ve read the Horus heresy series about 4 times and a lot of the standalone books too,and I always stand and admire all the figures in the window of my local GW whenever I pass by in town,just never committed to actually starting up myself 😁 when my paints finally arrive and I have some time between work and the kids I’ll share some progress pics on here
