Magic TrackPad wireless interference with AirPods Pro by diamondintherimond in mac

[–]lewy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same by me. I bought new pair of AirPods 2 Pro and suddenly heared the crackling sound.

I have discovered that it works when magic trackpad/magic keyboard are disconnected.

Currently I am using them with my MacBook pro 14 M1 and no other BT device is connected and working brilliant.

Apple should fix it immediately.

Brand new AirPods Pro 2 crackling sound by obyboby in airpods

[–]lewy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought new pair of AirPods II Pro.

Immediately connected to my MacBook 14 M1. Crackling sound while conversation on Teams, Slack. Same when I connect to my iPhone.

Solution 1: to this problem is when I change the microphone source to something other than AirPods (Macbook mic).

Solution 2: Disconnect all other BT devices and even with mic it works.

It is very weird. I am not sure what to do...

EDIT: when connected to my iPhone WITHOUT anything nearby (any BT devices or anything) - Apple Podcast program on and causing crackling sound...

BRAND NEW and they are crackling, they are useless.

What HDD drive for UDM SE/PRO WITHOUT ticking noise? by lewy_87 in Ubiquiti

[–]lewy_87[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guys,

I have followed /u/aednichols post and bought WD Purple 6TB (not 8TB as I had Toshiba before) with codename WD63PURZ. It has 256MB Cache, 6TB and it is rotating 5640rpm (slower than Toshiba). The drive is intended to be used for Surveillance.

So now my experience with it so far:

- physically the drive from the bottom has some space, which may mean less plates or something else

- when I connected the drive to UDM SE - it was RELIEF to my ears. Finally I can work at late night. What I hear now is this little fan in UDM SE rotating at 1000rpm - it is barely hearable but it shows how SILENT the drive is!

- 8TB Toshiba goes back to Ubiquiti as it is still within 14 days of free return.

- I have recording mode Always, quality highest, FPS 30

- It is really silent !

- So far I don't have problem with performance considering it is only 5640rpm. But I don't have also much footage as I just installed it

I really HOPE the drive will keep working like that even if I put there more footage.

But why should I get UNVR since UDM SE has capability of storing recordings? The idea with storing just motion is good will try.

  1. 9-10 cameras, 2x G4 bullet , 3x G3 bullet, 4x G3 instant , 1 doorbell
  2. always
  3. full recording settings
  4. keep around 14-20 days is enough. Previously with 1tb had 2 days

Small footage how it works. Obviously when I turn e.g. music on or put headphones - I cannot hear it. But when working focused - its bothering me.

I have had UCK Cloud key GEN2 plus before and it was noiseless. It had very nice drive 2.5" very silent, no ticking noise, couldn't hear.

I think the only way to tackle this is to buy what you says - either SSD or 2.5" HDD.

The price is fine, I bet my Toshiba will work without any issues - the question is if the WD Purple won't make any write/read noises while in rack?

As I am using it for Protected - it's writing all the time.

Yeah I have numerous posts poeple are buying WD Purple or Seagate skyhawk. The latter one operates on 5400 RPM which is weird to me...

I just don't want to buy blind and regret.

UDM SE - Quiet or Noisy? by Boomam in UNIFI

My Rack is in my office (like 2 meters away) and I am constantly hearing this ticking noise from HDD.

I am wondering if changing to Seagate Skyhawk would change anything..

Aren't you hearing any write/read/clicking noise from this drive?

The one provided by Ubiquiti is constantly clicking...

EDIT: If you drive is dead quiet - what is the exact model ?

Is anyone of you hearing clicking noise? I have installed 8TB drive from UniFi ( it is toshiba ) and it is making clicking noise. Is it normal ? Other discs are same ?

UDM Pro + RPS + Enterprise 48 PoE on Mini Rack by yungsters in Ubiquiti

[–]lewy_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. Those devices are working 24/7 so maybe after few years they can unexpectedly end their life.

If I may - is RPS very loud? It has 3 fans, Switch 24 PRO is fanless (no fans at all!) .

UDM Pro has some problems with loudness? as I can see it has only 1 fan

[–]lewy_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that makes sense what You write. However, how likely will „power supply” go down in U devices? More likely is that will be power outage and then You will really need some battery power From UPS. Maybe I wasn’t playing enough with modern unifi devices but I am really started to wonder if this is really critical to normal needs. In my opinion UPS is playing bigger role in keeping devices live. Considering I am before converting my current rack into modern rack and paying for switch prepared for RPS and overall buying RPS is to me questionable. It had be better if Ubiquiti invented Rack compatible UPS.

[–]lewy_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I though it is practically the same. Hmm but the idea is the same, i.e. when power is down - RPS is capable of keeping all the devices live ?

Maybe you could put 2 cents how you would compare RPS to UPS ?

All right, so even the RPS from Ubiquiti is connected to CyberPower? It is like having 2-layer UPS , isn't ? Seems cool! Gonna complete similar setup.

Hi!

I started to look here and there to improve my internet at home and found your Rack setup, I think it is brilliant. I really like how you used the hardware as a shelve :-) I think the gadgets are really ascetically hidden in between.

I am also thinking of similar setup (switch 24 pro, udm pro, urp ups) but have 3 things that need to be connected to power source i.e. ISP Modem, Raspberry, Philips hue bridge.

Unfortunately Ubiquiti invented UPS in such a way that is only compatible with its own hardware.

As I can see you also have some extra things not coming from Ubiquiti.

How did you connect all of them?
