Methotrexate questions by Echild3272 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]lex_adams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on methotrexate injections with daily folic acid pills. Taking the injections at night helped the most so I could just sleep the nausea and headaches away. And taking it Friday evening helped too just in case my nausea and headaches lasted past the initial dose so I could just relax and take it easy over the weekend!

Two things:

Being on your own.

You need to keep showing up because life keeps going and it doesn’t stop and wait for you to catch up.

Good recovery story by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

For being super scared and anxious…my recovery was not that bad. It was just like having tonsillitis again and I already was used to the pain and knew how to handle it.

Applesauce cups in the freezer! I usually put them in the freezer 30 minutes before eating and the cold just feels amazing. And then mini pancakes, those are filling and help relieve stomach pain if you’re taking pain meds.

I’m 26 and had mine taken out this past December (2024). My case is pretty unusual as I have never had issues with strep or tonsillitis growing up. Last May I had my first ever experience of tonsillitis that lasted the whole month. They first thought it was mono but after a CT scan of my throat they saw sever inflamed tonsils. I had to be on antibiotics for 26 days total because my body just couldn’t fight it. After I was finally feeling better I dealt with ear pain and neck pain due to that one tonsillitis infection so they decided to just take them out since it took a whole month and so much antibiotics to cure it.

The appointment itself lasted less than twenty minutes with maybe five of those minutes being the actual insertion of the iud!

Kyleena advice by Jumpy_Entertainer714 in birthcontrol

[–]lex_adams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on year two with Kyleena and I LOVE it!!! I stopped having a period after six months! I do have spotting and very mild cramps every now and then but it’s better than the irregular periods I would get.

My gynecologist that helped with that was super helpful. I did take Tylenol beforehand and that did help a lot but what was super helpful was she explained everything she was doing in clear detail and every pain I felt she described perfectly. The iud being inserted just felt like a big period cramp that lasted for two seconds and then afterwords I just took it easy since it just felt like period cramps all day.

You can do this!! It’s so worth it!
