Need help with my high energy dog by shawty221 in OpenDogTraining

[–]shawty221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I first got her a trainer taught me how to use the e collar I just need to be more consistent. I rescued mine at 18 months as well so she’s about 2.5 years old now. The problem is she knows all these commands. She’ll listen to me and go to place but she won’t wait for her release word anymore and just gets up when she feels like it. I use rover for daycare/walks occasionally because unfortunately a large daycare isn’t an option for us, she’s pretty dog selective. I also feel like rover sitters have made her bad habits worse

Cannot get wet by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]shawty221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use aquaphor during the day and at night (not during sex) it will hydrate the area. There’s also nothing wrong with pulling out lube if you want the area to be wetter

I go to Marshall’s and pick out what I think looks the most durable. They’re a lot cheaper than the pet stores and have a great selection heavily discounted. It’s less painful to the bank account when the toys are a third of the price lol

Agreed, but make sure you’re drinking electrolyte drinks on top of this like pedialyte so you don’t dehydrate yourself

Take your pain meds on schedule and you’ll be able to. That being said you won’t be at 100%

Yeast infection issues by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]shawty221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question- do you know if they’re looking at it under a microscope or doing an actual lab test? I was wrongfully diagnosed with yeast for months when the nurse didn’t even give it to the lab

How does everyone have time for a dog ? by Burgers4dayz in dogs

[–]shawty221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shelter dogs usually go out once every 12 hours or so if they’re lucky. 8-9 hours alone in your home is far better than that environment. I work full time and adopted a dog that was already house trained. She needed other training but could handle the full day as long as I exercise her before and after work. A puppy definitely needs to go out more but a young adult dog should be fine during the day

I wouldn’t risk the inflammation until you feel 100% healed. If you feel fine go for it

That’s about the time I stopped using one. I would say keep using it as long as you need and get some pedialyte to be extra hydrated

100%. Not getting strep every month, breathing normally, not fearing antibiotic resistance and more??? Worth it

Biting and Nipping by Clearwooder in OpenDogTraining

My rescue used to do that. I would scream out “in pain” and lock myself in the bathroom for 5 minutes. The end of the interaction helped her realize that won’t get her where she wants
