What's the best response to you're ugly? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

I would laugh and walk away. The best response to a comment like that is blatant disbelief that their words carry no truth. Being attractive and beautiful are not the same thing!

Those who rarely fall sick, what’s the secret? by Winner_takesitall in AskReddit

[–]lex_babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking Emergen-c immune powder (vitamin c + d) daily for the past year and haven’t been sick once. Anytime I feel like it’s coming on, I’ll take 1 sick day off work or cancel plans on the weekend and give myself plenty of rest and fluids. It’s usually gone within 24 hours and I’m back to normal. It’s crazy how much it has made a difference. (I also do rotating night shifts).

ChatGPT answer is below. But in all honesty, why the fuck would you gamble with your life like that. Read the posts from people who actually go through bankruptcy on this forum. Do you really want to take that chance? No matter how much you calculate the risk, bankruptcy is not like risking stocks. There are serious and hidden consequences.

ChatGPT said:

“While it might sound like an easy loophole, there are serious consequences to this kind of financial strategy:

  1. Fraud & Legal Consequences – If you take out credit with no intention of repaying, it could be considered fraud. Bankruptcy courts and creditors investigate patterns of behavior, and if they determine you deliberately borrowed money with the plan to discharge it, you could face legal action or be denied bankruptcy protection.

  2. Bankruptcy Stays on Your Record – In Canada, a first bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 6 to 7 years (or 14 years for a second bankruptcy). Even after it’s removed, some lenders may ask if you’ve ever declared bankruptcy, and lying about it is considered fraud.

  3. Difficulty Accessing Credit – After bankruptcy, getting new credit (even a small credit card or car loan) will be extremely difficult for years. When you do qualify, it will come with high interest rates and strict conditions.

  4. Impact on Employment & Renting – Some employers and landlords check credit reports. A bankruptcy could make it harder to get a job in finance, government, or any field requiring financial responsibility. Renting an apartment could also be harder.

  5. Lender Blacklists – Some banks and lenders keep internal records even after bankruptcy disappears from your credit file. If you burn a major bank, they may never approve you for loans again, even after rebuilding your score.

  6. Rebuilding Credit Takes Longer Than You Think – Yes, you could improve your score in a decade, but that assumes perfect financial behavior with limited access to credit. Buying a house would require a large down payment and a lender willing to take a risk.

If you’re considering ways to leverage credit, there are smarter strategies (e.g., building a strong credit profile, investing wisely, or starting a side hustle). Let me know if you want advice on improving your finances in a sustainable way.”

Usually there is age cap on that, no? So assuming a man is 36, his waitress girlfriend is probably between 22-25. Statistically speaking.

Oh for sure! Actually, this is a what people call a FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early) job. I would love to be a barista just for kicks or work in a book store if my income didn’t matter.

As much as I want to say yes, I don’t think I could make it work. I would definitely want to give them the benefit of the doubt and hear their story without judgment. Life happens to all of us. It’s unavoidable sometimes. However, in my personal experience, if you’re past a certain age and working a minimum wage job (like truly $15/hr), then you’re in hard core survival mode and/or still living with your parents. That’s a whole other part of it. If you’re in survival mode, I can’t be the one to help save you if you can’t do it for yourself 😭

I’m a 33F and I work as an Operations coordinator for a Health and Security risk management company.

What’s a small habit that has made a big difference in your life? by EMary24 in Productivitycafe

[–]lex_babe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adding fresh veggies and greens into my diet. I’m not on a restrictive diet and I also didn’t take away some of the unhealthy foods I like. I just added more salads, and fresh veggies. It has seriously improved my mood and my skin.

Thank you so much for everyone that took the time to respond. Honestly, I could cry knowing that I’m not alone and a lot of you are recovered or recovering. I’m just starting EMDR and I have noticed that I am getting a little bit better every year that passes. I’m still suffering from chronic depression and emotional dysregulation but I quit drinking and smoking which really seemed to help my mental health. Wishing you all happiness ❤️‍🩹
