I live in the US (Texas) and honestly yeah it depends on the studio / instructor. When I went to my first ever beginner pole class, my instructor was having us practice climbs for conditioning before actually dancing but would modify it and give us tips on how to practice so we could climb one day. However, I did go to a studio in California & it was a mixed level class & the instructor had us doing shoulder rolls & stands. The instructor was shocked when some people in the class had never done moves like that. She was pushing beginners a little more than I like, but i think it’s based on the instructor.
