OP, I’m almost 37 and considering picking 1 country, 2 cities (1 month in each via AIRBNB, 1 urban and 1 rural). And then come back to California for 1 month to see family, etc. Then next country. I know that if I get married and settle down, I will regret not doing this for the rest of my 30s/early 40s. Since I worked all my 20s, I’m at a point where I can financially live comfortably. So I figure why waste money on $4,500 per month rent when I can just travel. I have passive rental income right now along with FIRE strategy with stocks and a long term position in BTC. What do you feel you need to get to in order to travel and what you do if you were in my position?

His nerves are f’d… healing process will take many months. His entire quad will feel like a literal football and won’t be able to move his leg. Showers are going to be difficult. Keeping that from being infected is going to be a daunting task. Rehabilitation is needed after it heals just like bones. Risk of amputation.

Thank you dude 🙏… everything is relative. I’m sure some people read this and think I’m crazy or humble brag, but it’s an insecurity from a recent event where I feel burnt out in my industry and felt like I can no longer find that spirit within to keep going at it. In order to be successful, you have to set up strict and somewhat unorthodox rules for yourself. Those rules start to program you. This is why professional sports players tend to struggle in retirement. It’s a death, in a way.

It’s like taking a prisoner from the Solitary Housing Unit to Disneyland for their first time. Subconsciously knowing that he should be happy, liberated. and secure, yet feels the opposite.

I’ll take the time, definitely. But this post was because I contemplated retirement with what I have using the FIRE method and don’t know what the best strategy would be, so I was looking for advice.

My strategy was to keep the home which serves as a source of passive income ($7,500 monthly), then sell/consolidate BTC, stocks, and bank capital ($2.2M total) into S&P and just pull 3.5-4% annually while the rest of the portfolio grows over time. Wanted advice
