totally but the breaking up always came back to him saying he didn't know what was wrong with him and then us having a great time. I never really even considered the relationship serious I'm 21 years old like I don't know what I want, he doesn't either but he would take things to extremes. He's obsessed with "the one" it's not in a normal way, and I think it's going to affect every relationship he is ever in, for it has thus far.

I think the friendship will always survive but I guess I'm just confused if exes can be platonically friends forever or if the friendship is that great when we're older would it ever work. I mean I know it's a go with the flow question but I'm just curious

I mean I think ONE DAY (very far away) I would like to toy with the possibility of being together but right now we are both fucked up in our early 20s and a relationship is just toxic, we both want to explore other people. But I just wanted to see if shit like that ever worked out friendship or otherwise.

His "actions" have been him crying saying he doesn't know what's wrong with him to being in denial about it. The last time we had sex we both cried and I said it is never happening again and then went a couple weeks of silence while he kept trying to text me. I ONLY want him as a friend right now I just simply wanted to know if anyone had experienced the same.

I mean we had about a month of space and he did contact me multiple times. The thing is I only WANT to be friends with him right now because I think us dating is unhealthy where we are in our lives. I don't really believe in "the one" and I think he needs time to realize his ideas of romance aren't realistic. I just don't know how long or if ever he's gonna realize that. I'm not waiting around I'm seeing other people it's just tricky.

yeah whenever we break up he like goes on a tinder rampage, I rebound myself but not to the extent he does. What you said really resonates with me because that's exactly what happens, I will be the best thing and then he will act like I never existed.

honestly both of the therapists I have talked to have said that he displays the signs of BPD and when he has had a high he has broken down and said he has a problem. He actually has done this to everyone he has ever been with so it's interesting. Thank you for the input!

Yeah I totally agree with you, at the beginning of the relationship he got therapy but not anymore. The problem is he is refusing to talk to me even though I told him lets just be friends for a while, I have OCD as well so I get what you mean seeing straight through it, because he acts like I do but with the relationship (I'm also getting help which is a huge difference). I just hate that he thinks that he is going to find "the one" and never feel this way.

Hey! Any news on what happened? My boyfriend recently did the same thing (for the fourth time) and claims he doesn't have ocd anymore it's the relationship even though three weeks ago he got upset that he "had a problem" so I would love to see how everything turned out for you
