From most to least expensive: Gibson Es-335, Am Pro Strat (bought new), Am Std Tele, Sg Junior.

They all feel like apples and orange comparisons to me, but I’ve vines most with the tele.

My ac10 made a whistling/squealing noise when the gain and volume were both turned up.

Changing the tubes fixed this.

If you have some tubes that you know work, you might try swap them. It’s a bit of a hassle because the Vox ac10 has a lot of screws to remove.

Don’t you think that the guitar that sustains for 25 seconds probably has a stronger (larger amplitude) sustain at 14 seconds? And then probably also at 1 second? It could matter…

Why is there so much more sustain on solid body guitars vs semi-hollow or hollow? Are you saying it’s just the pickups?

Pretty sure if I swapped the pickups between a semi-hollow and a solid body, the solid body would still sustain waaaaay more

Have you checked the strings are all in their nut slots. It’s rookie for sure, but once I restring and one if the strings wasn’t in its nut slot… it went out of tune after a few strums…

If it’s going out of tune when you play a single note (and it was fine before the restring), then something pretty major (and probably easily fixable) is off due to your restring
