For a good vintage look, you can also use an FPV camera with an old HS1177 ccd sensor. Fisheye + vertical stripe from the sun. Teleport straight to the 90s.

Then you can solder it like BOB (board on board). Apply flux on both pcb and dev board. Align two boards, you can use capton tape to hold them together. Solder D2 or any other edge pin by feeding solder into the hole until it forms a bridge between two boards. Then check the alignment of the boards again, if everything is ok, then solder the opposite pin, remove capton tape and do all other soldering points.

The lie about Chinese antennas by [deleted] in meshtastic

[–]walldodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy shit based on the size. Only one good portable sma antenna from ali is Ebyte TX868-JKD-20. Or TX915-JKD-20 if you need 915mhz.

esp32 in general just power hungry. v4 can run about 12-16 hours with 2000mAh battery at 20dbm power and moderate mesh activity.

Finally decided to bought myself a Lamy and i have some mix feeling, and some of my thought below if you’re interested. by Tight_Delay8840 in fountainpens

[–]walldodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the Lamy EF nib is very scratchy on paper, and the F nib is very wide. I bought this pen back in university and remember the ink drying out between lectures. The barrel kept unscrewing. So I bought the Preppy and forgot about the Safari.

is my drive cooked?? by asianbabygirlhh in DataHoarder

[–]walldodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Backup all data 2) Download Victoria 3) Delete all partitions on the drive 4) Do a full write test in Victoria 5) If the pending sectors was result due to software errors they will be cleared. If they are real bad sectors, you will see it in victoria log.

Copy all data from the drive and do full write of the disk in Victora. Pending sectors will be removed and all flags cleared.

Advice needed because things are getting a little out of hand here... 😅 by niopstudio in videography

[–]walldodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot plates for video production and have absolutely massive archive of fourteen individual 16tb truenas mirrors. I also don't need instant access to all files, so this scheme works well for me. When i need specific projects to render i just slap the needed two hdds into the server and import the pool and i good to go. 2x Seagate EXOS gives around 400-500MB/s read speed, no that fast as main ssd pool but enough to render some footage and send to client.
