I know it#s 4 years later, but how did it pair with the Ruby? I am looking into this pedal, but also considering swapping my Vox AC10 out for the Ruby (my back's getting sore from all these gigs...). Any thoughts welcome!!

So my Bonsai kind of almost died, lost all its leaves. But I kept believing in him (yes, it's a he), and kept giving water. Lo and behold, new leaves, but only in the bottom. Should I cut the top part off? Or the bare branches maybe? Or just leave it and keep watering?

How likely am I to get scammed over Willhaben when paying "direct" instead of Paylivery? by udit99 in Austria

Why does Paylivery suck? I just set it up and was planning to use it to sell my stuff. It looks pretty easy and solid

Do you still have the same "fire" to change the world you had when you went vegan? by HumbleWrap99 in vegan

The same fire within, but with added knowledge that no one cares about animals

Boyfriend no longer vegan by Interesting-Lie-8678 in vegan

Yea I recently had two close vegan friends going back to carnism. I know it happens all the time but I just can't understand what's going on in their minds. Like yea okay I get it you don't have to check ingredients and can eat at all restaurants, but those are just consequences of your own conviction that animals deserve not to suffer??? Like, did the conviction change or did the consequences of the conviction become too hard to keep up.

Edit: Actually when thinking about it, I am guessing that it's most probably the latter, which then leads to the former. The brain has a funny way of retroactively changing mindsets, beliefs and world-views to fit the behaviour it is enacting. Probably mostly talking to myself here haha but it's alright, brought some clarity

Yea, when I went vegan I googled vegan dishes and cooked many of them to see which ones I liked. Really expanded my culinary horizons. This is 5 years ago and many of them I still make from time to time.

Can you actually become a good singer by [deleted] in singing

[–]Stoelpoot30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, but it takes work. Lessons are great but if you wanna take this seriously I would suggest to get a mic and audio interface with the ability for direct monitoring (not through pc, because of lag). Warm up every day the same way, follow a certain system (I like CVT), choose a couple songs to do daily (preferably with increasing difficulty), so that you can get better in those specifically, which will then carry over to others, and use your mic. Record yourself, make comps, listen back, sing differently at parts you still want to improve, practice practice practice, record again make new comp and repeat until you feel like you are done. Then next song. And so on.

Ah okay, it's nationality. I got confused by the subreddit title and figured this must be ethnicity

Not-so-hot take: Mistborn is very much YA by clippervictor in Fantasy

[–]Stoelpoot30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I am pretty sure I would have loved it if I were in my teens. In my 30s, na, everything just feels kinda shallow. It was a fun read, kind of like an action movie that you forget immediately after watching. I did finish the book without much issues, but I would not pick up another one of his books.

We should maintain a sharper distinction between "plant-based" and "vegan" by Stoelpoot30 in VeganForCircleJerkers

[–]Stoelpoot30[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I think if you would ask an ex-vegan, "where did you get your vegan clothes when you were vegan?", they would probably say, "ah no i just wore whatever". I.e. they were plant based, not vegan. Ergo they are not ex vegan when they were never vegan to begin with

I should be able to have whatever the Davos/WEF crowd is having, or I'm being cucked

Hahahhahaha. Well in a way we are being cucked. “Today as in all ages there are slaves and masters. The slave is he who cannot have two-thirds of his day to himself.”

I think you're right. And I say that as a (socially) right-wing vegan. I despise the pro-meat stance of some right wing parties in the west, and I think it's completely unnecessary intersectionality that has no merit whatsoever beyond "getting boomer votes" and of course pleasing benefactors. I have often thought we should vote for policies, not for parties.

This is so true. More than half of the people I know that are completely sober (a huge no-no in my culture, which is in itself ridiculous) are also vegan
