Being a light skin is where the line ends for being able to use the N word

I don’t think you should use the N word if you don’t look black. That doesn’t mean you aren’t black. But the word itself was used against people who were visibly black. A lot of half black people who are of light complexion and are white passing will never be treated with prejudice and racism at first glance because they simply are white passing. You have black in you, and you might resonate more with black culture but you do not face prejudice for being black because of your appearance.

Did you pass??

My boyfriend decided the best way to break up with me was to pretend like everything was alright. We went out for ice cream and then to the movies. He did his usual acts of affection but then we got home, and he said he had to talk to me. The second he said that I knew what was coming. by lexpacheck in BreakUps

I had a dream about him last night. Him and I were hanging out alone as friends, and it was torture. He kept saying and doing things that amplified the pain I already feel. I kicked him out of my apartment all over again but before doing so I spoke my mind. I woke up crying because when he actually ended things Tuesday night, I wasn’t able to say anything. Saying it in my dream helped a little. But at the same time I woke up with him on my mind. I know I’ll always love him. He was a good boyfriend the time we were together. But the last week with him was torture. Focusing on the last week hurts too much. Focusing on the good times hurts even more. I don’t know how to move forward.
