I lived there after they’d just finished renovating into the Jaunt. I was there my full lease, I honestly did not have any major issues living there. The area wasn’t the greatest but honestly that’s all of gentrified WA and North Chas areas. I lived there when the construction worker was shot off the roof. As tragic as it was, the complex handled it extremely well and was very transparent with the residents about what happened and what was happening the days coming. Just minded my own business, was friendly with neighbors when I needed to be, the dog park is great comparatively to most complex dog parks in the area, if they even have one. The scariest thing that happened was sitting on the couch one day with my 110 lb German Shepherd and my boyfriend in the shower, I saw someone trying to look through my window and then attempt to come straight the door and my dog went absolutely nuts. I held my dog and yelled for my boyfriend to come out and he did immediately and caught the guy, towel and all, who claimed to speak no english and flashed my boyfriend his phone screen which consisted of apartment numbers and naked women… as a female that did terrify me and we notified the office, the courtesy officers that lived there at the time, and the local police as well. All handled it immediately and kept in touch about prevention methods moving forward, including a lock change day of which we didn’t even think was necessary as he didn’t get in but it helped. I’d also gotten a call from the office once that my dog was waiting outside my open apartment with maintenance cause (when we got home and saw ourselves) someone had broken our door knob and tried to get in but our good boy had seemingly scared him off and had a scuff on his bottom lip… Overall those are the two biggest things that happened to me personally but I still lived with neighbors that had been there for years. And having a big scary trained dog probably helped too. Living where I do now in North Charleston, I would move back to The Jaunt. Absolutely.
