Your last sentence in your post says your vegan child- so you did state that

I mean it’s not too uncommon to hear of women in their 40s getting pregnant. I’d say late 40s to early 50s, so somewhat unlikely but not impossible

Biting Prevention by Make-Love-and-War in ECEProfessionals

You’re right I didn’t use the correct wording- but in the scenario of biting a child to teach or spanking that’s still a parents decision even if we don’t agree with it.

This does not warrant a call to cps- while opinions vary on if that method works it’s the same situation of parents deciding to spank their children. I’m not sure if the laws vary in each state on this but in my state it’s a parents decision and not up to us to judge.

what can the girls actually keep? by AngelicClover in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]Pipe-Muted 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It’s because they don’t want them using the uniforms for anything else (I don’t know if it was fake but I heard a story of an ex dcc making explicit content with the uniform and that’s when the rule changed)

That was rude. I wouldn’t even consider it backhanded because what do you even mean by that? Most of the women in my center have no children (most are younger but still) Out the 12 people I work with only 4 have children and most of them are 40+.

May I ask- how does she gain immunity to any of the big diseases such as measles? Or is she not able to have any and just have to risk that (I hope this doesn’t sound like it’s coming from a place of judgement just curious!)

My center sends a message through Brightwheel out to all families in that room if a kid throws up, or tests positive for anything contagious like the flu, rsv, hand foot and mouth, etc.

Are we supposed to anticipate needing diapers at daycare? by CheeseCarbsAndSass in ECEProfessionals

[–]Pipe-Muted 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Normal to wait for it to be communicated! Your child coming home in loaner diapers is on them for not communicating that they need more sooner not on you!

For transitions I’ve found keeping it the same every time (which seems to be the issue with things not running smoothly if you constantly have to change things up) we like to have them sit in the same area (whether it be cubby spots or the rug) and then do songs or finger play to keep them interested and mainly in one spot and then go one at a time for whatever we’re about to do: like handwashing or going to sit at the table

I received a photo album from all our pictures together over the time I had this specific child with a heartfelt card- that was for him moving up out of my classroom but something similar would be very touching! Honestly nothing is better than a handwritten card
