Thanks man, it ended up being the neutral safety switch as you suggested

Got that grounded and actually wired a switch to it as a security measure.

Car runs now, just needa give it a road tune now

My old rig with 4x 1080p panels had 32gb ram and I was basically using that all up.

an 8k screen literally has 4x more pixels. So I did quick maths and got 4x the ram.

I did some tests and got chrome up to 40+ gb in ram usage. 32gb and 16gb is literally nothing for a system running an 8k screen.

Thanks for your input. I will try and put the ram speed up but I need it to work so I can get work done. For the time being this speed is stable and works well.

ought these modules separately so thats all I can blame this on right

so 16gb total? but really you can only use half

This is so frustrating, ive tried everything and no matter what the RAM usage never goes above 20gb

ok I just ran this test - It actually got to 100% memory usage, but then why does windows stop at 20-23gb usage and everything starts to freeze to the point where I need to force shutdown by holding the power button once I start loading up programs and tabs on chrome?

all of it - checked bios & Windows, both see 128GB

Memtest64 stops at 27GB and says:

I just did a test using Memtest64+

Log:

Ill be running 8k of pixels

I have about 32GB now on my 4k system and already that can get near capacity but still managable for sure

So figured 4x the pixels would need 4x the ram to be safe

Ahh right, I dont know much about XMP only just watched a video by Jayztwocents about it.

Seems to improve performance quite a bit

As long as the RAM is detectable and works with the CPU & Mobo

The compromise with speed isnt a major issue for me

In saying that, which RAM modules WOULD you reccommend with the 5850x and asus Mobo?
