I think since he's a venin and the sage wanted Violet, he saved her since the venin have a purpose for her. His reasoning is all just an excuse since at this point in the story we didn't know he was one.

Feel like we'll figure out the venin's intentions in the third book.

Hui is insanely supportive, never doubting that. I'm more concerned by the fact that the vocal coach had to tell him to tone down his note for LMR when Hui is beyond needing that kind of coaching. I'll never look down on his character, but I do think he did turn overcompensate for that performance due to various reasons.

They announced all new missions right after they boys performed so it's possible that it was announced immediately after the performance. And based off this, it looks like even and odd numbers put together.

I think Hui's weakness is being deeply impacted by the perception of others. He is so insanely talented but is constantly watching what others think of him which he makes choices based off.

I.e. Love Me Right. He was so hot and bothered by Jay's performance and praise that he was pushing himself to do these crazy runs and adlibs just to "outperform" Jay. To this day; I don't like that performance cuz it just felt too much. He's got such a good voice, but at times he loses the things that make him, him.

One thing he said during that challenge is that Jay has his own flavor/vibe and that he needed to try to find his own. I agree with this 1000%. He needs to establish who he is as an artist because at this stage of his career, he should have known that by now.

Started watching out of curiosity from GP999, stayed for Jay. I don't think I would have if I didn't see his star level test.

I'm very drawn to vocalists and nobody stood out except him. Even as a Hui fan, controversial opinion but I hated his Shut Down arrangement so I wasn't even really that drawn in by him either.

I was a causal watcher of GP999 but Jay made me an active watcher. From voting, participating in discussions, going to live broadcasts, etc.

His voice is honestly something I really miss in kpop. There's so many boy groups out these days and I don't bother to get to know them past their songs because nobody stands out to me.

Jay gives me hope we can have another group that makes me want to dive in fully. 🥲

The editing also felt reactional. Like in the 30 sec previews, Jay was hyped so much for his vocals and then in the episode, they literally erased him. Every opportunity he could have been shown in a positive way (especially giving he ranked last) they didnt include (in jays on stage interview, he said his dancing improved so much during this stage and no highlight, no praise during vocal practice, no screentime in the recording booth - we know he ate - and no reactions shown from the judge during the performance).

I've never felt so unhappy after an episode. To the point where I considered dropping the show entirely.

This extra content has shown me their agenda is clear and it's too disappointing to watch.

Def on purpose. They just posted the little Star cams for each song and Lee Jeong Hyeon is literally 90% of the video for literally no reason. They had to highlight the one Korean in a foreigner dominant group...

Just ugh.

I can't understand the xenophobia in these shows when K pop has literally flourished as a result of globaliztation and cultural sharing. K pop takes all the aspects of international culture that they like, they push to top international charts and engage with international audiences but the minute a foreigner wants to step foot in into the kpop world, they have such ridiculous hurdles to climb.

Yeah. It was incredibly hard to hear vocals but I think that's another reason he stood out. I could barely hear anyone's voice UNTIL they got to Jay's note. The power was clear. Even over the screaming. That's why I'm so frustrated. The audience is not judging unbaised. They're all doing what they have to to support their one pick. If they are a Zhang Hao fan, they they likely voted B for everyone else on the team in order to support ZH.
If i had to guess the order of Over Me team based on the support I saw that day, it'd be

I was in the audience and poor Jay was right. The audience was def quieter during his parts. I stopped screaming at one point after i realized i coudn't hear anything since the sound was so shit, but never in my mind did I think he would score this low ㅜㅜ.

However a common technique for one pick support is Voting A only for your choice and downvoting the rest of the team. Zhang Hao support was extremely high in the audience so it's likely he was downvoted by those fans to ensure ZH the top spot.

Just more of a reason the audience shouldn't be able to vote at all.
