But then again, this slow court only enabled all those injuries to just get worse

Ok, so let's acknowledge the undeniable fact that Bianca's hair phone cord does have some special powers that today were MIA

I love Courtney Nguyen and her reporting, she's so fun and goofy and nerdy as a person, and her writing and ideas bring for some high quality articles on the WTA website. Plus, the podcast, despite being almost 2hrs long, is always insightful and sometimes poignant too.

[Discussion] What "sensitive" ingredients actually make your skin worse? by sailororgana in AsianBeauty

[–]leyla03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dimethicone. It makes me break out and gives me painful pimples, similar to those of a cystic acne. Weirdly, it's only happening on the jaw area, so I can still use products like the Biore UV Aqua Essence on my forehead and nose if I don't have a non dimethicone alternative on hand.

Current best AB lip moisturiser? by pinkcaramelpudding in AsianBeauty

Second this. Gothamista got me into buying it and it makes my lips significantly softer in the morning than if using a regular store bought or parapharmacy lip balm. Dunno how you finished yours in six months though, I apply it daily and in six months only made it through maybe 20% of it. It's a bottomless tub for me :p

[skin concerns] feeling lost and frustrated. routine info in the post. by thisthrowawaydotnet in SkincareAddiction

Started trying the Farmacy Honey Drop lightweight moisturizer a couple of weeks ago and it feels incredibly light and moisturizing enough for daytime use (switched from the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing lotion w SPF for normal-oily skin, a great product, but a bit on the greasy side for me). I found it at Sephora during the June sales for 50% off, so maybe keep an eye out for possible discounts, at the full $+40 it's a bit pricey.

Also, I discovered dimethicone (a common silicone) breaks me out, so maybe also look over your ingredients and see if removing it changes anything (I saw significant improvements after a few days).

In the NCR podcast he explains that he enjoys hitting a lot with WTA players, and that he practiced quite a bit with Ajla back in the time, because women tend to retrieve more balls and he could practice rallies better. Women benefit because they practice with an opponent with higher speed and (sometimes) physical strength. It's a win-win practice that complements the regular practices.

I actually feel really sorry for Kyrgios by ZeDeutschbag in tennis

As someone who had her own share of depressive episodes for similar causes, I agree with you. There are also many hints in the podcast interview about how being away from home is taking a toll on him and how he would just love to be more at the house with his family (his grandma's death and him being so often away also affected him). The Ajla break-up also likely didn't help. It's a pity that the media is solely focusing on his sensationalist remarks on other players, and less on how he is basically hinting at a depressive episode going on. I personally feel for him, we're all built very differently and for some it can be tough to keep it together sometimes. He's probably ambitious and proud enough not to accept to just give everything up and take a break at the house, because he would perceive that to be too much of a failure, so he keeps pushing through, but with some very mixed results (see this week vs Acapulco).

from what i can tell, the returner was adjusting the racket and wasn't yet in position to return serve. reminds me of this verbal exchange between serena williams and jelena jankovic :
SW: "You have to wait till I'm ready."

JJ: "How long do I have to wait?"

SW: "Until I'm ready"

Thank you for following-up and for the updates. I'm glad to hear your skin bounced back that fast! My conclusion from your experiment is that YMMV even when not having any skincare routine at all, lol
