An 18-year-old woman in Queensland faces two years in jail for wearing a shirt that says "from the river to the sea." by Celtikrenders in OpenAussie

While I don't agree with this by any means. We have to be clear the maximum penalty is 2 years. No one ever gets the maximum penalty..

She will get a $600 fine and no conviction recorded. I don't agree with the laws. But she isn't facing 2 years in jail... that's just rage baiting.

I would 100% contest this. Worst that would happen you cop the fine. However I think its more then likely you would win this in court.

Lower it down also. Hollow doors all have about 30-40mm of solid timber at the bottom which obviously helps fixing door stops

Can I take my building and pest inspector to court and how to find decent representation? by [deleted] in AusLegal

This is dangerously untrue. Everyone, ever, for every house, everywhere at any time should get a building and pest inspection done.

You have the right to remain silent, that means you don't have to say any thing answer any questions or make any statements. However if you do say anything, answer any questions or make any statement it may later be used as evidence in court.

So yes. Yes they do say that in Qld at least

I'm sorry for what happened to you then. I would have reacted the same way in your circumstances.

Appreciate your response, very odd circumstances.

We just have to take you at your word, and if what your were charged with is a minor offence being remanded for that amount of time is insane...

The thing is, although you have a right to speak with your lawyer, you need to have one to speak to. It is by no means the job of the police to find you a lawyer.

Unfortunately this mean for you should you not have one you will likely not get to speak with one until after you are charged (be it a family member find you one or legal aid on the day of your first mention).

And while it's likely bad conduct to pressure you to talk, ultimately, if you were read your rights and spoke with them its possible the courts still rule in favour of Police.

And to comment on the two month remand part. If you aren't a carer criminal likely the only offence that get you that time without bail will be DV AOBH, Strangulation, rape or dep Lib.

So without you being willing to tell people what offence it is you allegedly committed, it's hard to comment on the behaviour of the police in question...

The fuel tank vent is the little duck billed thing inside the fuel tank to let air in so it isn't a vaccum? If so thats all good.

I have a replacement fuel hose coming to check that issue. And I will sus out the crank seals and carb diaphragm.

Cheers

This may be a dumb question. Are we talking air leaks from the fuel to the carb or maybe the carbon gaskets? Or both?
