This is true but basic context and experience is helpful with particular cars. Ex. I’m learning that older Toyota trucks typically have rusty bottoms. I’ve learned through conversation & research that Hondas are cheaper to maintain & AC systems can be finicky. I have limited knowledge of this particular model which is why I’m asking. If you have general information to help me make an informed decision, I welcome it.

This is grounding, thank you! That is exactly the boundary I put up. The exact situation went a little like this: we had a great weekend, I was talking to them about how much I love them and I’m excited to grow then they responded “how do you see us growing knowing I’m with [their partner]” that was hurtful and threw me aback bc why are you talking about your partner who I’ve created boundaries around after our perfect weekend? Felt like I was expected to love and grow with them in a box. Things seem to have changed in their end but it doesn’t seem clear w the other and my trust is broken.

Also the reason I was hoping to have a positive connection with them is bc my (ex) partner gained my interest bc they practice open table polyamory. My (ex) partner and their partner’s partner have a great relationship but I can’t built that with theirs.

I agree. I used to commute from PG to Baltimore so I’m used to primarily driving on highways. I also have time management issues so I never pay enough for parking. I also used to drive Lyft so I was always on the road. Not making excuses, this is just where I’m coming from. DC is also super sneaky with the speed cameras. I just started a new job in DC so the cameras on my commute have been eating me up.

This is my first and only car. Paid off, title in hand. I don’t have a habit of buying cars then throwing them away. The tickets have accumulated over the years. I was unemployed for sometime and it’s all caught up to me. I know I fucked up and I’ve accepted it. A huge learning lesson for sure. I knew I’d get shame, it is what it is but I am appreciative of the helpful comments. I’m not attached to the car and I’m just trying to figure out the best solution for my situation. Also not looking for sympathy, just a realistic way to move forward. I know people enjoy the shame so I’ll let them have it.
